I know I know.... Another annoying question from me. especially to you pro game designers! But as you pro's can see, your games a totally SWEET! Custom battle system. Custom Menu. A QUEST LOG (I know their is a tutorial so don't worry). Custom Sprites. I mean... So much!

Wouldn't hurt much to ask...

Teach me basics plz? What do you use? What is ABS and DBS (i know what ABS is but im not sure)? Do you use scripts?

It's ok to ignore this. Because, I could just make my games the boring old menu's and battle systems.

If you start making a game with the default stuff and are serious about it, half way through you are going to get much better and start getting these ideas on your own. Give it some time and your skill will progress naturally. It's always good to study up though, have you been here?

Heh...yes, in the process of. I don't have a lot of time with school and work, it may never actually be done, but I enjoy the process. Pay attention to the details of the game. That's really what separates the o.k. games from the really good.
Well, if you want to make your own custom battle/menu systems etc you must know that if your not that good at scripting and if your a basic as you have described than it will most likely take some time. With my Demon Destiny game i decided to create my own custom battle and menu system and it took me quite a while to get it to work and i could have easily thrown the computer out my window. ;D

But if i was you i would probably get used to using the basics of the rpg maker system before attempting anything such as a custom battle or menu system etc. You can easily find lot's of good tutorials on the net.

why demondestiny you're right! I tried doing one of the Intermediate templates... It was so confusing on how many things you have to do on the event pages... Maybe i'll stick with the lam-o default thingies for now...

I use a test project all the time and it comes in quite useful when i want to try new things out.

Sounds good, i have always been interested in a caterpillar system. I have been thinking for one of my later games to have one that is similar to final fantasy XII maybe even with a gambit type system. Although, that would take a whole lot of work, but would look pretty cool.
lol, I don't like the FFXII Battle system... ruins the whole Random Monsters thing.

well, it isn't going to be in the first installment of Demon Destiny but i might have it in the second or third. Plus i am actually working on another little project at the moment in which will look awesome if completed. I don't think i will be canceling any of my games.
