MAFIA: DEMON REALM GAME THREAD

Posts

Yellow_Magic could only create/give away 1 item per turn.

Current Vote Count
Despite: 1 - MirrorMasq, MrChearlie
CAVE_DOG_IS_BACK: 5 - Jeroen_Sol, MrChearlie, chana, ivoryjones, Gourd_Clae
ivoryjones: 1 - Cavedawg
Nessy: 0 - Cavedawg

With 12 alive it takes 7 to lynch.

Right, I'm questioning why your gut feeling is leaning that way instead of the other way. Why would the cross be a one-shot, when it seems like there is only one chance to use it? There doesn't seem like there would be any chance of a second werewolf attack, so why would it become non-functional?

Well, if you like it better, you're gonna have to unvote. Since I am about two votes away from death.

I'm not taking issue with Yellow Magic being overpowered, I'm wondering why his role centered around giving helpful items to everyone. Makes me wonder what his win condition was.

It seems much smarter to spare a good player if we can prove\disprove their innocence.

My only other problem is we have to get the detective to correspond.
Also, it could be a reason why the werewolf dies when attacking a hero, completely useless to have in your inventory or to even know about.

Jereon_Sol is revived so there's another chance to use it. Also, doesn't werewolf spread? It seems very likely it would happen again. And, YM isn't overpowered.

Jeroen said that all his powers and traits got wiped. He isn't the same werewolf he used to be.

So my point is that having the cross vanish would be weird since there's not really anything else that could target a crossless player specifically after Jeroen's death. Assuming that the silver cross is something specifically harmful to the werewolf. Silver is a weakness of werewolves, but crosses aren't as far as I know. A Vampire, maybe...

Well, from my point of view, it's simple. Any investigative role that targets me won't have to speak out because they will find me innocent. But what we would do is all give some kind of report tomorrow, saying "I believe Cavedog(or another player) is/is not" aligned with the scum, even if you have no investigative power. Then, when someone dies, we look at their reports and role and act accordingly. This makes it so that investigative power roles don't have to claim.

Gourd, if you aren't going to vote me, who would your choice of lynch be? I was set on Ivoryjones, but Nessiah's first game ultra-lurking, which has been the downfall of every scum ever (itrombe, Lily, Kyrsty if Despite was not Despite, etc.) is super tempting.
Oh. I thought he said traits and items... I'll have to read that again!

The cross doesn't necessarily exist though. It could be a way to explain the werewolf dieing when he attacks a hero.

I'm fine with that but you'll have to persaude others to agree.
Mirrormasq, he usually acts anti-town (in your eyes at least), but he's act down right aggressive this game which I find odd. I think I'll vote for him actually.

Nessiah, SorceressKyrsty, Despite, and itrombe. What are your reads and why are you such scummy lurkers

I really wish I could do nothing but stare at this page and hit F5 all day, but jobhunting and sending in applications is a bit more important =(

I was out earlier his morning and I normally wake up from sleep in ~2 hours. Among thin walls, relatives as noisy as they are dear, my graveyard-prep sleep schedule and being offhandedly being implied to be some easy target, I don't think I'll feel bad later for jumping on a bandwagon.

Although I'm not entirely convinced about Cave's defense, Gourd raises a good point about potentially losing a good player actually, and it isn't surprising for mafia at all to target Cave on the day rather than night (the same tactic me and my team used before in the PW game), and that's assuming on the first night he always gets protected.

I'll re-read some of the posts first before I put up my final vote.

I have a job that lets me stare at computers and do whatever I want forever. Geheheh

I'm not implying that you are an easy target, although you are. I'm implying that you are very quiet and asking for your reads, which you still have not done and have jumped on a bandwagon and apparently not read the plans for me to be investigated/everyone fake investigations later.
I don't know what 'reads' are -- this is my second time trying this.

Reads are what you think of players alignments. For example, I think that probable scum include ivoryjones, Nessiah, and Kyrsty. Gourd's actions today have made me pretty confident that he is town.

The argument for Mirrormasq acting out of character is good too. In every game I have played with him, he posts multiple paragraphs at a time. Now he is posting one-liners and heavily tunneling despite. He is a good lynch and the case for ivoryjones, despite being solid, is getting zero support so ##unvote

I'm not sure; Masq's 'multiple paragraphs' in the minimafia had a less-than-scrupulous vibe about them iirc, like they were crafted with the intent to deceive. Here Masq is being straightforward as all hell. I might be completely wrong, but I think s/he (sorry) is either town or independent. Like Despite, not a big problem at the moment, but could be a threat to both sides since Masq made it clear s/he's more intent on winning for self than for a side.

Ivory I'm not sure.

Nessy has hardly said anything.

I still think Despite is town.

Kyrsty I'm not sure.
Oh err if we're sharing powers, mine are Item-Steal, Status-Heal and Action-Block.

Actually, that's a good point. I didn't really remember much of FF2 mafia because I was just modding it, and I got killed very early in PW mafia, but looking through Mirror's post history, his posts were by far the longest in those games. Although in his earlier town games, his posts were still longer than they are now.

I would imagine you're not sure, since town doesn't know what alignment anyone is and mafia is going to lie, but what is your gut feeling on those players, besides Despite?

Anyway, the first-game scum have always done what Nessiah is doing. I don't think there's any record of this NOT happening in a mafia game on RMN, so

The problem with that is he was very concise, especially in day 2. To me, it's normal if everyone voted for someone because of "gut feelings", or even just a random vote because it's understandable since you don't get much infos on day 1. The fact that he just said "kk shut up and just lynch him" doesn't really explain anything.

And why the fuck did you just revealed your powers?? *facepalm*

AAAGGH DO NOT REVEAL YOUR POWERS THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT
Oh gosh, even Nessy is smarter even though she's newer than itrombe *facepalm*

itrombe, what I was talking about was faking an investigation result on someone tomorrow. in the format of "I believe Cave_dog(or some other player, if you wish) is town." Then, when someone dies, if it turns out that they were some kind of cop or tracker, we lynch accordingly. They don't have to claim this way.

I did not mean...to do that...
