How do you make characters move without using the arrow keys? Like a cinematic...

Use the Move Event button. It on like page 3 of the events options.
Has things like "Move Up" "Move Down" "Face Left" "Turn 90 degrees" etc..

You do have to specify what event to move. Its in the upper right corner, you can tell it to move itself, the hero, another event, ect.

also if you want your event to move as soon as the screen comes on{with out moving}make sure when you transport to that screen you take everyboby out of the party and set the event you want to move on auto start.
