Hey all, i was just wondering, i want to create a custom battle system that is the same as the original battle system but is custom made. I hope you can understand what i mean. Thanks.
Well, my suggestion would be to check out games such as "the legend of the philiosophers stone" and "Final Fantasy crystal wings". Both of those games have what you after if you want to take a closer look at how there made. As for designing it i wouldn't have a clue but i'm sure you can find a tutorial of this if you google it.
I'd think a tutorial for a CBS wouldn't really be worth it... The point of the CBS is to innovate; simply copying an the system of another would defeat the point. Though again, if you're replicating the DBS, there doesn't seem to be much point, except to add wiggle room for more advanced features. But looking at your other thread, if you wish to add a fifth character or something like this, an altered version would be necessary. I'd recommend trying a party-swap system first, if you have no RM experience, as editing a battle system, (original or otherwise), is quite a hassle.
I agree with kentona here. This is very difficult without hacking away on it a lot, and it still wouldn't approach the smoothness of the simple copy-pasting of scripts in RMVX. Or even RMXP.
Personally, I would go with XP over VX, but they're right; spending a large amount of time to recreate the DBS just to add a few small mods seems pointless. If you like customization, go with XP or VX, though I do really enjoy 2k3.

But if you're really set on doing this, check out Power Trip. It's around somewhere--google it!
