About a week about my second XBox 360 suffered complete hardware failure. That little red ring sat there, blinking at me, mocking me - Ninja Gaiden II is well on its way, as my 360 surely knows, and I think the unit appreciated the irony of the situation.
In any case, have any of you guys had a 360 that has suffered complete hardware failure (aka Red Ring of Death)? If so, how many times?
If you haven't had complete hardware failure, how long have you had your box, and how often do you play it? I am convinced that the failure rate for units manufactured in the first 1.5 years is 100%.

Ny Nintendo won't run games anymore.
I think my connectors need to be replaced. I hear that it's a cheap and easy fix, but I haven't the time.

Bought mine in November. HDMI premium model. No issues so far.
A buddy who has a 360 hasn't had any RRoD issues yet, and he's had it for two years or so. It only a few issues that started recently so it might be on its way to RRoD-dom.
Now for something related: My first Wii was defective! The GPU was damaged and whenever I played a game that didn't have 'Wii' in the title, there'd be a bunch of black artifacts all over the place. Got it replaced at no cost of my own (except that I needed a box and styraphome things to fill it, which I had laying around) in a week and a half.
Other consoles blowing up experiences: My computer, PS2, my computer, SNES
I have terrible luck :(
(okay the PS2 was my fault)

I never had RROD when I had my 360, and it was a launch one, had it for about a year with no problems at all, just gotta take a quick read of the instructions boys ;)
As some of you know my Playshit 3 fucked up, and took 2-3weeks to get told "We'll give you a new on instead" but they offered me a 40 gig seeing as I paid for a 60 gig I asked for a 60 and it came in the next few days which was cool, but it's already having problems.. *sigh* 0.4% failure rate my ass, OH and my 5 year warranty I paid for.. completely void now. >:(
My first PSP randomly couldn't read UMDs anymore so I got it replaced, and it happened just 2 weeks before the warranty expired, man that was lucky, so they gave me a new one the next day which was cool.
I dropped my original Xbox once, and it smacked the disk tray thing and got stuck so after I fixed that the controller ports fucked up which till today I haven't gotten fixed, since my brother gave away all the games for it.
And.. that's it I think, OH no my PC got hit by a shit load of Virus' and we didn't get it fixed for like a year.

Don't you live in a country with a weak currency and high cost of video game equipment? I seem to recall you complaining the 360 was $1200 or something in your country. Man that's like pure gold I would be devastated if it failed :(

@Tau: Why is the PS3 warranty void now? Warranties aren't supposed to be one time things...
He probably bought a warranty from the merchant, but due to the replacement from Sony has a new serial number.

Traded in my 360 for the PS3 at launch, with 2 games and 2 controllers, a decision I have regretted a bit since.author=Tau link=topic=1175.msg17526#msg17526 date=1211562090
