NO SOUND IN SMBX

Need help: in smbx no sound. No music, no effects. OS - Windows 7 Home Premium. What do I do?

There's a "No Sound" checkbox when SMBX starts, make sure that isn't checked and that SMBX isn't muted in the volume control. If that doesn't work... try a fresh install? I don't think there's any actual sound controls in SMBX itself.

"Disable sound" not selected, game in volume control is not. Tried to reinstall the game - did not help.

Actually, what is the codec that SMBX uses for sounds? I remember it used to just SPAM my taskbar in Vista with duplicate icons. FFS or FSS or F-something.

Anywho, the point I am trying to make is, find out what the codec is that SMBX uses and try installing that? Or you can try going the shotgun approach and installing ALL THE CODECS:

I notice that sometimes SMBX will stop playing any sound if you are working from the world folder (containing your level) simultaneously with the editor. That's about all I can offer, though.
