ok, I looked up in the dictionary, this is what I found :
"A group of businesses or nations that collude to limit competition within an industry or market." No "goods" in there.

"W-well I Lady Cincinatti... I didn't mean to... Well, let me explian a little more. I wasn't calling us his friends, I felt he was using the term simply to describe the two people he was coming to meet as a formality or to actually hide that he is a slave-owner considerering the number of anti-slave gentlemen and ladies aboard the train. And the fact that he owns land yet relaxes in luxury clearly indicates workers of some type, most likely slaves. And why would it be worthwhile to catch up to them? Well, I suggest it's because he thinks of us as his property." Maria looks up to the ceiling clearly distraught at the absurdity of Lady Cincinatti. Though, she knew Cincinatti had some merit.

"A man who holds the title of "Lord" has enough money to not need slaves. Not to mention, in these times, having slaves in your 'employ' would be a disaster upon his public face.

The killer and the deceased had a previous relationship. That makes three "friends." If you were the friends Essex mentioned, then one would certainly wonder why he mentioned you at all. After all, he could have simply ordered you to be quiet and pretended that you were strangers. And a Lord calling two young slaves his friends? Friends he claims to have not seen for over TEN years? How old are you, girl? Did the dear Lord befriend you when you were a baby?" I snort. "

"I also believe us to be the cartle the letter speaks of, notice how it never specifies WHAT the cartel is."

"Ha ha ha. Little girl. You may have a future as an entertainer! Have you mistaken the word cargo for cartel? A cartel is an agreement amongst businesses! Oh, I do see why you are slave now."

Not mistake, but know something about the weapon that we don't.

"Are you daft? We have all seen the bust. We all know what color it is and Essex making that mistake means nothing.

Well, pardon me, Ms. Maria, but you could not possibly be in a -drug cartel- by mere accident. Indeed, there have been rumours of drug trafficking being performed on premises, need I remind the crew of that poor maid Jillian who was framed with the smuggling of crack cocaine from Alexotria to New Retshire. She was behind bars for a full week! They never caught the criminal, unfortunately.

So, dear Maria, if you -were- in a drug cartel, you'd surely know about it, wouldn't you?
"I pretty sure there are multiple definitions of cartel, Michael."

"And none of them of any relevance! How exciting!"

Yes, Maria, you are absolutely right! But it is well-known that there have been 4 major groups warring over this general province. These 4 groups are the Mafia, Cartel, Independents and Town. Indeed in a society with mafia, the drug cartel are probable to appear, and I say this without hesitation. Not that I have anything to do with them, of course.

About the bust I don't know, maybe you're right, but why do you say that Lord Essex had not seen his friends over ten years, he never mentioned that, or did I miss that?

I sigh just loud enough for everyone to hear. "I believe his exact words were something along the lines of..."

'If I knew what they looked like I wouldn't be having this problem right now, would I, sir Fevell? HAWRHAWRHAWR! I have not met them in 10 years, which is why I was so thrilled to hear I had the opportunity to meet them again. I'm sad to say my memory of them is a little hazy.'
"The slaveowner is actually looking for us Lady Cincinatti. He doesn't know what we look like because he was just buying us. Have you never thought he could be lieing to you about the 10 years bit? You say 2, I say three. 2 is the number of the people suspected for murder the most. My sister one, and the man who helped us another. I ran out first remember?"

(By the way, I am responding to your earlier post right now.)

"Of course, we are ignoring the most obvious problem. How do you not recognize your own captor?

We have little time left to make a decision. Some of you would have us do nothing. This is pure cowardice. You are putting our fates in the hand of the killer. I urge you, throw this filthy, ignorant gambler (Dudesoft) overboard. He is either a criminal, not surprising considering his line of "work," or useless to our cause."

"Or maybe a suspected drug-cartel? I don't mean to fearmonger but feel that it is not of drugs."

"We are slaves, but we were just being bought a second time this year.... The man selling us was rather....wicked but naive. He had allowed us to come ahead on to the boat and he would come meet us here. Of course, we tried to escape with the help of a kind man. But, the seller killed him right in front of my eyes. I

"You claimed that the killer was SELLING you, little girl. What's wrong, can't get your own story straight?

The number of years is, frankly, irrelevant because Lord Essex mentioned his friends at all. There would be no reason for him to do this if he was indeed referring to you.

(actually, we passed the deadline over an hour ago, apparently. Good lord you are all atrocious.)
"Erf, I suppose not. I've definitely mispoken a few times. I believe I mispoke; mixing up the slave owner and the slave owner. The slave owner is out to get us while the slave seller was killed by one of the last two to leave. There were 3 when I left that were alive. My sister, the man who helped us, and the slave owner were the last 3 to leave. I obviously suspect the slave owner."
(Whoops. Anyway, Maria is supposed to be an airhead and I feel I'm personifying this very well since I am a natural airhead.)

I know you didn't see it Gourd but here it is again for everyone. Stop all posting!

Also seriously the post limit is ten posts a day. That's extremely high for this kind of thing.

Indeed, Ms. Cinatti, I will have to agree with you on this one, albeit with sorrow from the bottom of my heart. Mr. Margraves has not cared to explain his absence in further detail, nor has he established any sort of desire to seek the killer, not even in the form of clues. I have no insight as to his character or background, and if he is wanting to survive to the next day, I plead to him that he would explain himself, for the good of the entire ship and its crew. I mean this in the sincerest of manners.
