~MURDER MYSTERY MAFIA~ [GAME THREAD]

I have to admit I didn't understand a single word of this game :)
I mean, I tried to skim every once in a while, but no clue :)

Please can we stop talking about how unfair and fair were all this things that happended, I'TS ONLY A GAME AFTER ALL! (...I am afraid that I also read it as rage if there is no context that proves otherwise, but this was supposed to sound happy)
that's pretty much what I was saying! It was just something minor and shouldn't even be paid heed!
@rabitz, there were some summary pages for specific cases like this :>
Ew no, hugs give you cootiez XD
Besides hugging is for the weak! WHat if I have to kill everyone in the next game?! >D

@Nessy: Yeah I gave up at that point probably :)
Role Playing is not my thing :p
congratz to the winners!

:( my.... My wife!
(I kinda figured, actually)
;-; sniff!
Seriously if I had more time to enjoy this, I would have. The concept of Mafia mixed with Roleplay just feels awesome. Like those dinner parties with a murder mystery. One of my favourite halloween parties was at GW's Mamamack's place. It was a whodunit theme and we had to stay in costumed character (I was economy batman). It's fun to jump into someone else's skin in a scenario like that.
Also, Libby, don't distress that your plans didn't work out. It's great for a GM to plan ahead, but you always have to be ready for your players to do something unexpected. Compensating is half the fun!

Yes, and half the stress too. XD
Trying to keep things interesting was, well, interesting, I'll say that. Plans were moved around or up and killed off, too. ^.^
Oh, also, those dinner party Murder Mysteries were a part of the inspiration behind this game. I made a list of roles I'd use then worked the game around them.
And I forgot to post the roles and their differences - the ones I 'created' or at least edited a lot - which were:
- the slaves who could be owned if caught, and have their votes directed,
- Sisters who could talk to each other but were suicidal if one died,
- slaver, who could catch the slaves and use one for a bullet proof vest and another for a controlling vote,
- Mafia with a reaction kill instead of a night kill,
- High Roller who blocks and protects (like a Paranoid doctor, I suppose),
- Psychic who has 1/2 chance of correct answer and can talk to the dead once,
- Sidekick/rookie who acts as a lightning rod for all attacks at one person and can choose to either use an action that has a chance to kill their attacker or leave a note to the person they protect (and takes over the role of the person they protect if they fall),
- Druggie who uses a hit and might either protect themselves or attack and injure (stop an action the next night phase) or kill a random person,
- Rich Bitch who is hated but when lynched can jump in to a rant,
- Chief Steward who must be polite, cannot start a lynch or hammer, but gets a +1 lynch protection if they abide by these things,
Of course there were Mafia staples too, like:
- Poisoner - though I made this an almost instant kill and usable during the day phase,
- Innocent Child, who couldn't be lynched but if the person they depended on died they defaulted to the Town side
- Innocent Father, who looks innocent when investigated but is suicidal if child is killed
- Inspector, who can follow one character and get night flavour back about them, but must come to their own conclusions.
And of course the characters who were there, but weren't supposed to be a big part of the story.
- Guest, who couldn't vote or act, but dropped clues. Also couldn't be killed, despite Cartel trying to do so at one point, XD
- Sergeant, who was the narrator and who was also targetted at one point for a kill... despite being the GM. XD
I had a lot of fun just making the story and characters up, and watching them come to life. It would have been nice to see more of some people but I made allowances for those who I knew couldn't be around as much since they already contacted me as to why. I tried to find people to fill in instead, in some cases like Cave's, but unfortunately at that time no-one had time or was willing. I was very lucky to find Indry to jump in for LWG, though. Thanks for that!
Dunno what I would have done if my mafia had to be Mod-killed.
(Actually, before I found Indry I was looking at killing off LWG and having Maria/Gourd have a complete breakdown and kill the people she thought was behind her sisters' death. Then I'd reveal that Sara/LWG couldn't deal with the guilt of being a killer and committed suicide. It seemed a bit of a cop out to me, though, so I held off for a while.)
Anyway, thanks all for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves! At least I now know (and I hope I have proven) that a Mafia game can be run with Flavour without detracting from the experience, though it might get a bit complicated sometimes.
And really, that's what I set out to do. (Aside from have fun.) ^.^
