BEST BOSS FIGHTS

Posts

Lufia II - when you fight Gades the first time and you know you can beat him, but he's nigh-on impossible to defeat.

Suikoden II - Luca Blight. Bloody hard guy to kill and the whole fight you're like "Die, you bastard! Diiiieeeeeeeeeeee!" - Or I was, anyway. I actually managed to defeat him with each of my three groups once (had to get up huga levels). He just turns tail and runs.
(Neclord's battle was pretty cool, but only because of the awesome music.)

Emerald Weapon - Oh come on! Underwater bastard who wouldn't die. Had 1 million HP and killer moves. Better equip that Phoenix with Final attack.

Breath of Fire II - Damn gold fly mouthing off at me! Die! Die! Die!

SNES games had some pretty great bosses.

No need for that Phoenix + Final Attack. Just get Knights of the Round and some Mime materia. Done deal!

As for a good boss fight, I really enjoyed Goht from Majora's Mask. And also fighting the end boss of MM. With the Fierce Deity mask, of course.

The final boss for Final Fantasy VI is pretty amazing. Three tiers of absolutely bizarre shit topped off with an angel thing that laughs at you.

I also have one of these.
that looks sweet wip. Bosses i find to be great come from the chrono trigger games. Is there anything better?
A lot of the Xenogears boss fights were pretty epic. Grahf vs. all of your Gears by himself and on foot? Epic.
The fifth colossus in Shadow of the Colossus was epic as hell. Not the only epic one, but definitely one of my favorite and probably the most memorable for me.
I recently just beat the remake of FF I and the final boss Chaos was pretty awesome. Not only was he strong but he had some pretty good moves as well.
I liked the final boss Marx in Kirby Superstar: Milkyway Wishes.

Man, did the SSE boss ever rip him off (of course, it's the same company n' all, but still).
LoZ: TP - Zant, I know this was mentioned before, but this is one of my favorite Zelda bosses of all time. Sure, there wasn't much difficulty to it, but there was such variety in the boss fight that I just loved fighting him. Especially on the iron boot, Goron Mines stage and the very end when he's spinning at you like a frickin' maniac...

LoZ: TP - That one underwater boss with the eyeball... <.< I can't remember his name. The thing I loved about this was I got to stab the damn thing in the eye... I couldn't get enough of that. STAB. HIM. IN. THE. EYE!

Chrono Trigger - Lavos Final Battle. That thing was crazy hard to beat. Plus, it tricked you into thinking the guy in the middle was the main boss, when it was really the right bit. Plus, he had a whole bunch of hp, a whole bunch of status inflicting moves, and he was just a big pain in the ass. I was so happy when he FINALLY went down. On a side note, most of the later bosses in Chrono Trigger games I just loved as well... they were fun.

RE4 - Castle Final Boss (damn it, I once again can't remember the name!). Okay, there's just some satisfaction with beating this guy. After all the crap that you have to put up in the castle. You finally get the satisfaction of not only killing one of the most annoying characters in the game (at the very least, he annoyed me to hell), but you get to do it in a rather hard boss battle if you don't know what you're doing. There's just some satisfaction in taking out that Revolver (Broken Butterfly) and blasting it in his face.

Hmm... I can't think of any more...

LoZ:WW-The Buzzard King really gave me satisfaction. You had to run away from him and then fight the big bird. It was great since he was the one who blown you to the island where you met up with the Red King. It's ironic the Buzzard King made his own doom.

Persona 3-Nyx, not only did it bring me extreme satisfaction when I killed her, it was challenging to. She had 13 forms, the last one having a huge amount of health. It takes a player preferably an hour and a half to beat her, the honest way any way. The Armageddon move people know what I'm talking about.

KH2-The Dragon Boss at the end wasn't hard but it was epic. You where eon this one little ship and had to take down this giant metal dragon that was flying in this huge realm.

KH2-Xemnas Final Form, It was great fighting side by side with Riku and the one thing I liked about it the most was when you got him to I health Gauge, it stops the game and brings you on this whole interactive cut scene where you basically destroy the guy.

MGS-Physco Mantis, I'm surprised nobody mentioned him personally. The whole concept was great, that you would have to switch the controller ports and it really broke the fourth wall there. That every time you hit the attack button it would be his dodge button basically. He really looked creepy.

ToS-Kratos V.S Lloyd, a classic for me. If you never used Lloyd you where screwed. You had no one to help you in this one. Just a one on one sword duel.

Also ShadowFox the boss your thinking off is Salazar

Hm, difficult choices, difficult choices. If I were to chose only two, I'd say:

1. Luca Blight ... Man, I had to grind to beat this guy, but it was pretty darn epic at the same time. I mean, with three parties trying to attack him. Also, it helps to say he is my favorite villain.

2. Kefka ... This battle was quite epic, there's not a whole lot else to say about it. Just thing about the monster artwork, the music, and just the villain itself. A great climax for a great game.

Last boss in Jak and Daxter was awesome. Best platformer I've played outside Nintendo.
Completely Agree here. I don't know about best one Ive played but ONE of the best bosses Ive fought was that Hydra at the start of God of War, that was some crazy shit. Also When I first fought Ruby and Emerald in Final Fantasy VII. Oh and just like a cool boss fight was that Ninja in Metal Gear Solid in that office room after the corridor of blood.
How about ALL of the bosses (which are all there is to the game) in Shadow of the Colossus for the PS2. I love the fights in that game. It's too bad they didn't really develop anything else for gameplay really than that.

I think that Ninja may be Physco Mantis I know you face him in an office and he kinda looks like a deformed ninja

I recently just beat the remake of FF I and the final boss Chaos was pretty awesome. Not only was he strong but he had some pretty good moves as well.

no offense but are u kidding me? i killed him in 4 hits! i think the best boss is the final boss in Chrono Trigger. after i beat him i did New Game + and beat him with only two characters! ;D he was actually very easy that time lol
The first crazy fire boss of Devil May Cry 4 (I personally do NOT like this game) was pretty sweet. I had another one on mind, but I completely forgot...

What level were you when you versed him. All my characters were on level 30 exactly and i didn't have a white mage in my party to cure me up all the time. I relied on potions and ethers alone. :(
I loved going into New Game+ in Chrono Trigger and taking on Lavos 1-on-1 with Crono. I think you go to the right telepad instead of the left, when you are supposed to go after that chick with the crossbow at the start of the game.

You go straight to Lavos!
Lunar SSSC/Legend- The Black Dragon battle. In spite of barely remembering it since it's been so long since I played, I remember it was quite the situation. Maybe not epic, but something close.

Tales of Symphonia- First half of the final battle. I loved how they were actually arguing during in the fight.

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story- the second battle against Ureksa. I don't know why, but this somehow got over-glorified in my head, possibly just 'cause of what he did after the battle. ._.

Breath of Fire II- Battle against Ray/Gander/Thatotheroldbishopguy. I don't really remember the situation here either, I just remember those three St.Eva battles were pretty interesting.

Golden Sun- Satros Battle on Mercury Lighthouse/Karst & Agatio on Jupiter- I honestly can't think of a good reason, other than I'd feel bad for leaving them out. The Fusion/Doom dragon battles were more epic, but didn't have the same effect as fighting the actual people.
