MUTATING, FEEDING AND BRAWLING MONSTERS IN RAWR
Posts
Rawr is a set-it-up-and-let-it-go pit battle game where you train, feed and mutate a "Rawr," which is your own little arsonist or micro-Cthulhu or unicorn or whatever else you want. There is... a story, I guess. Something about aliens and ghosts. The game doesn't really let it get in the way, although you must fight a champion of the big evil (who is like a cross between Salad Fingers and Slender... yeah) each chapter in order to progress the story and save a forest or something.
Play it: http://armorgames.com/play/14360/rawr

The game's English is a little off, but it's pretty understandable as a whole and has a lot of tooltips that make things transparent. Although battles are mostly hands-off, the rest of the game is pretty damn interesting -- there's a lot of different ways you can affect your Rawr, and the only thing that feels missing in my opinion would be a FFXII- or Dragon Age-style gambit/tactics loadout to maximize the potential of your Rawr.

Try it out and see if you like it! It's free, after all, and has some cool ideas that you could probably apply to your own game.

There's PVP too, but I haven't played with it yet.
FAKE EDIT: Post your "Rawr Codes" in this topic with the Rawr's current level and I'll put them in the OP!

I'm starting to play this too, I love Armor Games, I don't have my code yet, because I just started, but I'll be posting it.

I beat Liberty. Cello hit me with two 1800 damage fireballs which was pretty gnarly. I also got an achievement out of that battle for hitting for over 3000.
My code for Nightmare (20/15, chapter 9, day 34):
121578x20s15e5E1d11s17F2s2u5170P150C67U5n55m10u10c11u120u560x4r44a51a52a21aNightmare
The one thing I hate is that even if you use a mainly psy attack approach, more often than not you'll do a normal attack. For easy wins, just pump up your physical attack and use them only, since you do a lot of just normal attacks that are based on your physical stat.
:/
:/
Well, the idea with Psy characters I thought was to eschew passive abilities and just throw on as many actives as possible, since each is +5% Special.
My psy activation rate is pretty high. My build is sort of an anti-mage mage. The only food I have eaten, except in the first chapter when I was still figuring things out, is the 350 XP +15 psy one, so I hit really hard for my level. My skill load out has the two skills that reduce an enemy's special activstion rate so I am forcing them to rely on normal attacks. This is how I can beat Liberty even though I am half Cello's level, because her normal attacks barely tickle. Like all of my passives are dodge and psy activation so I have something like a 50% rate for both. My epic skill is the one that blinds enemies. The only non-disable/control skill I use is lightning but that is mostly because I need more gems to replace it. I basically never get hit and have trololol steamrolled the single player so far.
Actually, here are my stats with my specific loadout below, although you'll need to know what the icons are to understand it:

I haven't played it since the initial run so I am still 20/15, but I'll get back to the game eventually. I'm not sure if my build is weak against anything in particular, except bad luck which can affect every rawr and this build is specifically designed to minimize bad luck to the lowest rate possible.

Oooooh, that's what special does? >.<;
I've been concentrating on dodge and crit rates instead. No wonder Cello does normal attacks all the time. I'll have to focus on getting in some more special.
I did start a purely physical monster, just to see how well it stacks up.

As you can see, with Cello I have a psy of over 1000 and a rather large payoff when it does a crit~ also, you can't tell me that Cello does 50% special attacks. That has to be a damn lie. :/

And this is Dallas. With it I've managed to get those pesky timed trophy's (the ones that make you have to finish chapter 5 before 30 days) as well as a few of the hidden recipes. I expect he'll fill out a bit more with some body and limb upgrades. Unfortunately there's only one recipe that permanately puts up phys, and it's not as good as the one for psy, still, once I get more of the booster skills he'll be a powerhouse.
That said, I had Cello do over 40000 (yes, four 0s ) on a monster. Shocked me half to death. It was the lightning ball with a critical, probably at the 600% damage, plus the 450% crit and already through-the-roof psy... well~ And it still needs the last hand upgrade. ^.^
Current Cello is on 36/31
Dallas is on 12/14 (I've kept the food levels around the same and it seems to help with not-dying)
Also, Dallas taking down Nightmare~

I got the timed trophies too, like fifteen days ahead of schedule and then squatted on chapter 6 for awhile. Cello probably does have a 50% activation rate, but you have to remember that there are skills your opponent can use that reduces that chance.
Oh, I just got a secret recipe finally. Tea of Sorrows that increases dodge rate by 1%. I am missing one of the ingredients though.

Forgot about them pesky skills. I'll probably go through and reassign some skills, but I do love me some deadly crits~<3
I'm playing again and I just got Nightmare to 36/18. New code is:
190998x36s18e5E1d18s2F5s5u8650P200C70U5n60m10u15c11u120u645x4r44a51a52a48aNightmare

I just want to say I'm playing this too - currently I'm working on making a rawr that primarily relies on poison and high HP.
Man, I hate Armor Games. They're so addictive and unfulfilling... Oh, well. I spent my afternoon on this, so I may as well post it. xP

Phew, that was a hard battle! I only just managed to beat Shade... and on the first try too! I was very lucky, though, since Cello had dodged a few that looked nasty, but hadn't managed to land a hit. Then it pulled out a last second skill that I numbered, and did a whopping 25,000+ damage. Which put Shade out of the fight. ^.^
I'll say one thing - when my crits do hit (and when they do it for double damage) they hurt~

They ought to disable the double damage minigame in PvP, because it's unfair against dodge builds. Even if you have against a 75% dodge rate the minigame guarantees a hit. You shouldn't be able to beat alterego's rawr on the first try--it's a dodge/lockdown build similar to mine, except he has a better starter head and can crit for 8k due to a 14 body level advantage.
