LISTEN UP! SOME SUGGESTIONS.

I'm just going to get started.
1. We should have specially selected "Representatives" tend to the different game engines supported here. One for RM2K(3), one for XP, VX, Sphere, etc...These Repesentatives are in charge of organizing (or making/obtaining) content and resources for that particular engine. Thia makes things quite a bit more organized.
2. If we haven't already we're going to start needing moderators for the various forums as the community gets bigger.
3. Advertising. We need to get on that and improve it. We need more people to pour in from all directions and be active.
4. Do we support Gamemaker? We should, Gamemaker is getting pretty hot.
5. Should we do a Referral type system where we have some sort of incentive or reward for current members inviting other members? Can we have it set up so members get rewards only once the invited members have a certain amount of activity or posts so this doesn't get abused?
Let's talk.

My opinion totally matters!
1. Well I wouldn't say it was un-organized or anything, tbh I wouldn't personally say it was all that necessary, but this is a growing forum. It should be considered.
2. For the most part the staff are doing a great job already. I think that should be considered when this place gets really popular. Perhaps you could do a members vote for the most likey candidates. DD for admin I say!
3. The more the merrier is my motto!... (when i'm drunk at parties) It's surprising how well this place is picking up from the cobweb filled, 3 users online at once place from a few months ago xD So advertsing couldn't hurt, it's doing pretty well anyway.
4. Yeah pretty sure, but no one uses it here much, nor sphere or ika or gamemaker, it's pretty much RM2K3 paradise.
5. Sounds cool, I'm not sure what you mean though. What kind of rewards could be earned on a forum?

1) While this is a good idea in theory, a representative for resources is only really relevant to rm2k3, rmxp and rmvx. Articles and tutorials I can see, but it would really depend on the individual's best trade. Making art, making scripts, or making tutorials/articles are all different things, and few specialize in all of them.
2) Contributors and staff already have mod powers. It'll be awhile yet before we need moderators for specific forums.
3) This is a good point. MrY was really, really good at this, but he goes on an exodus every two months.
4) I don't see why we shouldn't support Gamemaker, but I can't think of a single Gamemaker user we have here. Maybe more would pop up if we did, though.
5) I'm not sure about this. People will be apt to get those of the lowest common denominator in order to get the 'bonus'. Doesn't strike me as a great policy.

1) This has been discussed before for RMN3 planning. Something may or may not happen with it.
2) What Karsuman said.
3) I have never been an advertiser and refuse to do it. I am not against facilitating the people who wish to do it, though.
4) The site already supports GameMaker and there are a handful of titles here.
5) I don't really have an interest in this. You can foster activity by being an intelligent person.

This does sound like a good idea but we only have 2 catergories and 12 boards currently at the moment. We have plenty of admins and contributors at the moment who can easily moderate these boards so we shouldn't need anymore unless we add some more catergories and boards.

1. I fully support and endorse this -- it's actually in our oldest and most ancient design docs. I think it's very important for someone who is active in those respective communities to work with us to be a champion of their engine's cause -- and I'll vote with my dollar to see that it works that way. I call them the "cheerleader".
2. I am confused by our policy, but we have moderators... kind of. We don't want staff, but we need staff. So we developed the freelance contributor program but then it became the staff position without the title because we were afraid of "staff".But them we give them additional mod powers... so they actually do staff work and then some (in theory). That said, we're still a quaint community with little need of moderating yet... again, a forum mod currently would be a "cheerleader" for their respective forum and not the arbiter of justice just yet.
3. I will skip #3 because it ties into #4. The problem is a lot of us who would like to advertise elsewhere don't exactly get warm receptions from higher ups elsewhere anymore, which makes it hard for ad topics to stay relevant. Hell, just mention WIP at a certain game making site and they bring out the torches and pitchforks.
4. We do support Game Maker and just about any modern RPG Maker or game creation software. The problem is no one knows that we do and we only do well
5. I don't think we want to give any artificial incentive for people to come here. We're a relatively new (also: relatively ancient) game creation website with a friendly community, solid and future thinking website development that is willing to think outside the box in the way we do a lot of things... but surely if we have to prod members to recruit based upon the proverbial "dangling carrot", we're doing something wrong.
I think I will possibly make some little referral pictures after school today. I might even make a few signatures and other little things, but I'm not sure about that.
I would be completely willing to help advertise the site.
EDIT: wow, I didn't put nearly as much effort into this as I wanted to, but here is an example of some RMN affiliate images. I personally hate them, and I will try again when I am more motivated and less sleepy.

Advertising and getting people to come is definitely important, and everyone should get on that ASAP, but what's also important is to increase activity among the established members already here. Getting people to come won't be as sweet if all they see is "X Member Viewing X Topic" instead of actually posting. Post more posts, make more topics instead of waiting for the next guy.
Those don't look too bad, dude. Could be a little more bigger and prominent, however.
I definitely support you on this. Kentona for RM2K3 Rep!

I call RM2k3!

1. Affiliate banners are supposed to be a certain size.
2. They do look bad if you compare them to other rpg maker sites. We would want this one to look nice and get people clicking

Those look quite good myersguy. I would probably use the top one you created as it stands out more. Anyway, i would be more than happy to advertise for this site as i consider this place my second home. :)
I call RTP! XP
But hey! I've been posting a lot more than I usually do so I'll do more of that, and add an image to my sig at other forums (though there's only really two I visit and this is one of them.)

Nobody is calling anything, because it's up to the staff who gets what.
Also, please do not go to other sites and post shitty topics like "Hey come check out this cool website!" because that is not how I want this site to be portrayed.
As for advertising banners, there is already a topic here with standard sized banners that you can use in your signature.

Already did.
It's even funnier if WIP first showed it to you over MSN and then showed it to you again with the extra "works, and talks about games."
WIP is brilliant.

A slightly better affiliate logo I made. I still don't feel like it's that great, but that's because I like working with a good, large portion of space. Also, I realized making these affiliate pictures is completely pointless. Affiliation is generally a two way thing. You get their pic on your site, and they get yours. Unless WIP is willing to go with this system, it is pointless.
Also, does anyone have a link to this thread with the signatures? An I might start making some advertisement signatures, since I am much better at those.
I would like to see back up in the site the ability to organize the games by rating.
That's pretty much it, I am content with the way everything else is running. Good job.
