REQUEST FOR HELP TO MAKE A RPG , PROGRAMMER NEEDED TO PULL IT OFF

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

author=Milenninauthor=LockeZWhen I save as .png in Photoshop (CS5), the only option I see is interlaced or none, and both options show up as a black image in RM2K(3).
This is dumb and crazy, just save it as a 256 color .png in Photoshop in the first place. "Indexed mode" is another word for 256 color, yo.
It's not an option when you save, it's an option in the menu. Image > Mode > Indexed.

Thanks, that's actually pretty useful.
I see, well, I want to go with the one that will best get across a 16 bit Final Fantasy feel, but can have decent backgrounds and effects. I guess the fan RPG's that inspired me the most are the guys behind this, http://rpgmaker.net/games/2051/
and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h86QOglo5sU
I don't know if either of the guys who made the games are here, but making those games is what made me see that fan games can look good enough to feel like its a real game from one of those series.
I don't doubt it takes a very long time to be able to pull something like those games off, I am curious how they got the backgrounds and effects to look that good.
I do image even if I can one day be good enough to make the programming make the art legit looking, it would still look odd. But then again, Smash Bros can be odd with all of the various cast and settings interacting and it still works so, guess there is only one way to find out lol.
I am shocked that 2003 version is better suited for such things, I assumed it would be easier with the newer version but it seems to not be the case.
I guess a key thing I am trying to figure out is if I need just the pictures of the borrowed characters or the ROMs of the games themselves, I seen a few animated frames in those fan RPG games, not sure how they did it to look decently smooth.
