"Project creation could not be completed." error in RPG Maker 2003 Topic

I have just recently obtained RM2k3 and don't fully know what to do to start. I'm trying to create a new project but I keep getting an error message that says, "Project creation could not be completed." What should I do to fix this?

This error generally is due to the path to the RTP being wrong, issues with the registry or version wich you are installing (as far as I recall)
So the best you can do is to try and install another version. I think that the more reliable version is the english 1.08 but I don't remember, portuguese ports for example tend to clash with RTP. Maybe you just didn't install the RTP altogether

Just do two things: Firstly, check the INFO on the program (Or ABOUT, I can't remember) and check wich version you're using, and tell us. And try reinstalling.
If reinstalling doesn't work try another setup file to install rm2k3 then.

Make sure your project (and better yet RM2K3 as well) isn't located inside "C:\Program Files (x86)" if you're running either Windows Vista or 7.
