AN FFX THREAD FOR YOU SCHMUCKS

Posts

Yes.

Via a Gameshark because fuck some of those requirements. I only got Auron's, Yuna's, Rikku's, and Tidus' (I got lucky with that stupid race) celestial weapons legitimately.

I also cheated for money so I wouldn't have to farm Mimics.
Yeah, i did hear from a lot of people that they were hard to obtain and there was a lot of frustration involved. I did however manage to defeat all the dark aeons in the game and they were extremely difficult to beat. The strongest one had literally about 10 million health.

WTF1?
Holy shit you actually managed to beat them, I tried Bahamut but got my assed kicked, but I did manage to get pretty much everyones Celestial weapons, just like 1 or 2 people I didn't do. My brother completed this game fully though so I think he got them all.
Here's something neat for the FFX(-2) fanboys:

Dead Fantasy I-II:

Unlimited HP code hijinxs aside, this is actually some very well done 3D animation fight scenes.
I saw that a while ago, and it was awesome. Seriously, someone needs to pick him up for an action or a fighting game.

Yeah, most of them were especially difficult and annoying when you would buff your character up and then the boss would use a move that would instantly kill you. But the items you obtain from defeating them are awesome.
I don't even know where I would even find the International version. Is it even in English?

You talking about that Job system game or something? If so it's not in English.
The International version was released in Europe I believe, so an English version is available.

Nah Japan only.. IGN. I wonder why they even made this though and that Final Fantasy XII Job System one to.
I thought we were talking about FF10, not FF10-2. Now I'm confused.

According to Wikipedia (hurhur) FF10 International was released in the PAL countries so an English verion of that is available. Its not explicityly stated though (a reason why I really hate Web 2.0 at times)

Wikipedia never fails Tau. ;D

Anyway, the international version includes the battles with the dark aeons and an airship battle with the boss Penance. It also contained some special video to do with X-2.
-_- To clear things up:

First, they release a game in Japan. Then they release the game in the US, with bug fixes and sometimes additional features. Then they release the game AGAIN in Japan, with more bug fixes and more additional features--this last one is the International Version. They don't release the International version in America and Europe, generally speaking, because they assume Americans and Europeans aren't as willing to blow money on a game that they've already got. Generally speaking, they're right.

The International Versions do tend to be at least partially in English, though. The voice acting in FF12 IZJS was in English, for example, and I believe FFX had the option for the menus to be in English as well.

They do these for basically every numbered Final Fantasy game, as well as a few of the spinoffs. Kingdom Hearts gets 'em, too--you've probably heard of KHII: Final Mix. Because part of it's getting localized (the PS2 remake of Chain of Memories).

Also, the International Versions tend to be the ones that get released to the greater Asian market, which explains the existence of PAL versions that never hit the streets in the western world.

As for the topic at hand....at first I really didn't like FFX, but after I played through it a second time, I realized that it's really a lot better than I gave it credit for. It's not the most amazing game ever, but it's pretty competent and has a lot of fun side quests, and some fairly well done character arcs.

I didn't actually care for the opening, though, at least the in media res part. It seemed melodramatic and too on-the-nose. And I just don't know if in media res works as well in video games as it does in movies or books, for the same reason I'm not a big fan of extended flashbacks in games.

Now the bit in Tidus's Zanarkand was pretty good, other than the music for the Blitzball game.

Wikipedia is a user based site, it's not ALWAYS right. Besides I thought he was talking about the International Last Mission game anyways :P
Except that FF10 is the exception to the rule. FF10INT for Japan came out a month after the NA release, but the PAL release didn't come out for another four months after the FF10INT version. If you bought FF10 in Europe/Australia (or imported from), you got the International version. The Japanese International version had the option for Japanese or English menu+subtitles, while the European release didn't have the Japanese option.

The other cases like FF10-2, KH, FF12, ect. either the Japanese rerelease came out after or very close/same time as the European release so Europe would get the NA version of the game.
One of the first--and greatest--games I've played and own for the PS2/ It's the very first Final Fantasy I actually BOUGHT, and I had a blast playing it. The graphics were great at that time, and I didn't think I would actually see anything quite like it.

Ha ha, though...because I was pretty young when i began to play the game, I don't think I followed the story as well as I could have, and some of the things did not make sense to me at all. I also did not really know how to use the Sphere Grid properly untill about near the end of the game, so I had to level up alot more to finally be able to beat the final boss. I also complained about the lack of Save Spheres throughout the game. though they were plentiful, I wanted them basically EVERYWHERE just incase I died. Ha ha. Omy. Good times with this game!

I'm hoping that I may be able to borrow my friends copy of the game to see if I can finish it again.
I've always liked FFX i've completed it twice, I prefer it to 9 and 8. The storyline was just right, simple enough not to confuse you (FF7) yet still full of surprises and awesome twists. I really enjoyed the ending, since it wasn't exactly the happy, sugar coated ending that I expected the whole way through. I enjoyed every main character which is a rare thing indeed.

I am of course pretending that FFX-2 never happened, I don't mind the game, it was fun, but instead of another FFX adventure I had a day out with Charlie's Angels, which doesn't quite compare.
I think FFX is a totally casual, more movie than game. Be serious:

-The game dont have any dungeon at all, only the last one ! and we are talking about J-CRPG where dungeon is the basic of the gameplay, the gamplay of FFX is inexistent, only to be easy for the movie.

-Linear like a movie, all the things are given with the history and you dont have to worry for nothing. Also, we have the easiest and linear "dungeons" of the saga and they put a automap??? lol

-The temples are a piece of shit. Not inteligent ones, only try-fail and too slow.

-The sphere grid is like being in 1991 with FFIV, nothing to do in the main history with it, no strategy or penalization of any type give a system that even my mother can beat it an know all.

-Main aventure desgin fail too, ¿nobodoy remember FFVI world of ruin? ¿the variety of the dungeons of the PSX saga? ¿the adventure influences?

-The combat, a good idea but totally wasted.

-The dificulty level, the game feels a tutorial for stupid pepple.

FFVII is overrated yes, but FFX its the most overrated CRPG ever i think.

pd: sorry for my english, im trying to improve it

This made me laugh. For the most of it I agree with you.. And welcome to the forums.

PS - I think you did quite well seeing as English probably isn't your first language.

Did anyone ever collect all the Celestrial weapons in the game. (or maybe there was only one) I never got a chance to, didn't know where they were.
I tried and only got 2 (or 3?)... And then when I figured out how to get Tidus's one, some stupid monk prevented me from getting to it -.-'.
