IS PORNOGRAPHY JUST ANOTHER JOB

Lets just not post on this topic anymore, bye.

Guess what, I just found out unsubscribe is not really a word, bye.
Unsubscribe is a word though, just as much as the others in this sentence, just as much as desubscribe would be if one were to use it.
As for the debate at hand, prostitution is a job as well as pornography, I like to think of pornography as prostitution (it's basically the same in premise person gets paid to have sex) with a camera.
I found the pic in the initial post (of Sasha Grey reading to kids) pretty funny, considering I've never seen any scene of her where she wasn't getting violently choked, gagged, or disturbingly physically abused in some way. Such a role model. I find most porn fairly harmless, but I steer clear of her stuff.
I'm a porn star. Does anybody remember this? No like seriously, I've done 10+ movies over the last year and I actually am the star of at least one of them. It involves handcuffs and taking advantage of "straight guys" in the back of a bus. Porn star.
It's actually an incredibly professional business because there are an insane amount of regulations and laws telling you what you can and cannot do without getting your ass sued off or having a company fined into bankruptcy. Pornography is not a child prostitution ring in China.
Oh yeah and obsorber is trolling hard
edit:
oh I've also been a rentboy (or "prostitute") and trust me, porn is not prostitution

Actually he's rambled about conspiracy theories and linked to random websites made by crackpots in the past. As such, it's safe to assume he actually buys into this nonsense, so it's probably best to ignore him/keep any particularly naive individuals away from him - at least when he rants like this, anyway.
I'd rather we just embrace it as a legal profession than try to limit it or ban it, forcing it underground and putting workers at risk because they're not protected by the law.
Obviously pornography is legal currently (in the USA) but there's always parties trying to ban it and other sexually-related professions.

Quite a few porn stars are actually 100x more intelligent than the average Joe Wanker. For instance, check out this IAmA. In the world of pornography, there's definitely a lot more than meets the eye, but not all of it is negative.

I personally dislike Family Guy, but this thread reminds me of this short scene:

Speaking of, I remember MY FRIEND was watching some scene and I happened to overhear the girl say the first few lines to a song, guess it was an appropriate thing to say during that moment, but the guy started cutting her off and yelling "Copy infringement!" over and over.
Looking back on it, the entire scene was unprofessional. Why didn't they just edit that out completely...
I really meant to share that awesome link AND the SCP Foundation website with you guys. >=
It's really awesome and all game makers would find a joyful spellspring of ideas there >_>

Yup, I was thinking of that too. It's just one of those things...

It IS a legal profession. There are legal guidelines about what can and cannot be filmed, distributed, etc. Generally these are State laws, and you can bypass a lot of them by broadcasting on the internet and not selling any physical media (DVDs etc) within an actual state. It's regulated to hell, I can't remember a single time I ever did anything near a camera without filling out paperwork in triplicate.
