Hi!!! so a while back iv'e stumbled upon RPG MAKER (new to this and forums in general) i was very interested in how creative people were into making these games it influenced me to actually make my own with RPG MAKER XP. This game i'm making Resident Evil Caution was originally supposed to be a future fan made manga cannon in the resident evil universe i wanted to make but iv'e decided to make it into a game :). STORY EXPLAINED > The game is set during the outbreak of Raccoon City it involves around 17 year old Ryan Rivers and his friend Naomi Hitori, rumors have been spreading that there were "monsters" in the city Naomi took this chance to prank Raccoon High by trashing the place to make it look as if monsters did it and Ryan tagged along, later they were arrested and brought too the RPD (RACCOON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT) by the police officer Marvin Branagh unfortunately later that night a zombie makes its way into the RPD which is the start of this nightmare. I'm using the RE SHOOTING SYSTEM 2.1 BUG FIXED with it but i have came across a problem with the knife combat (script error causes crash) and a few others which i wished that the maker of the system should have fixed in his "bug fix" besides that its really well made saved me a'lot of troubles. So far i'm doing good on my own but i have no idea of the limitations of rpg maker so some of the stuff in the script (i made with notepad)i cut out i really would like a team maybe to help me with this project or people to help me with event making and ect ect. Would anyone like too help? you can find me on facebook/youngmreezy or message me on here or whatever.
The best way to garner help is to create your game profile and draw in people by showing off what you have so far on your game. Most people are not going to help out with a game unless they can see that it's worth their time and effort and that you have spent time and effort on the game.
So far all you've got to draw people in is a big chunk of words. Not even nicely placed or put in to paragraphs. There's really nothing to show people what you're making and people don't tend to gravitate towards example-less games.
(Add that this is in the wrong section, too.)
- Make a Game Profile. Straight away this will let people know that it's worth looking at because RMN has standards for accepting profiles. If you don't get in on your first go, edit the profile until it does.
- Ask for help in a blog. Once your Game Profile has been accepted to the site you can add a blog post asking for help. Remember to structure these in a clear concise manner so as to draw interested people in. Also remember that if you make a request blog it will automatically show up in the help forum so there's no need to make a thread there unless you need a specific kind of aid.
- If this doesn't work, try taking apart what you need and asking for it bit by bit. Maybe you need a certain type of script? Instead of asking for 20 different ones, ask for the one you need the most. If you have too many scripts, maybe you should see if you can't knock out a couple by figuring which ones you really need. Pick and choose.
