Also to the actual topic at hand, I don't even have a car yet! So this doesn't effect me much yet. I want my parents to buy me one like the girls from my super sweet 16, but they refuse...

That's the same with me. When i was 18 i wanted a car for my birthday but they refused. I had to ride my bike to work till i had enough to buy my first car.

I haven't adjusted yet.. but don't really anticipate problems. Driving for me is currently an issue because more rural locations in America (i.e. everywhere in Iowa) have shitty public transportation systems. That said, I intend to move out-of-state to a much larger city location after finishing with school, and at that point I can either take advantage of public transportation or afford some pricier alternative-fuel car that will have been developed.
