[2K3] TERRAIN & TILE SUBSTITUTION

Ok, so I'm having a bit of an issue here now. So apparently, it seems that the game flatout will not change the Encounter variable to anything other than 0, despite the fact that I have the coding set up in such a way that it should be reading it down the line (it should be reading the Demon Charm coding and initializing that if applicable after the first coding, no???). Despite fighting a fight, walking 10 steps, and then checking the variable, it stays 0. I've even manually turned it to 1 (while having the Demon Charm equipped), left the debug menu, and came back to it and it went back to 0. Can anyone help with this? As of right now, all of my encounter stuff that I have just flatout won't work because of this issue :<
I'll post some code in a couple of days once I try this out myself.
Well, I just fixed everything up. Took a good 1-2 hours to do (except there's still a bit of an issue with 2 items and a skill), which I'll post later, but overall got it fixed!

Alright! Good to hear!
Ok, so bringing this back up! I'm about to put in the "Increased Initiative" and "No Back Attacks/Pincer Attacks" bonuses into the game, and need to make sure that I'm setting this up right. I know that I'll have to set up extra copies of my tilesets for this and set them to the terrains appropriately (depending on who's in the party and whatnot).
Current Terrains. I don't think the images matter at all seeing as the map overrides what I'm using for the backgrounds and whatnot. So for the most part, I think it's still using the Plains terrain on every map, but with a different background. Everything aside the last 3 are still on default (not sure what would be suitable for these):
Tilesets (I haven't touched anything here. This is just to show how many there are right now in the game):
So yeah, I'd have to duplicate ALL of those tilesets 3 times over yes? And then just apply them (somehow, probably a parallel event on each map?) to each and every map, yes?
I'm just trying to make the game more flavorable with encounters (as you seen with the previous encounter thing. Still working on making the No Encounter/Double Encounter items/skills working properly (they seem to not work 100% as intended yet), if anyone cares to help on that? I could get screenshots for that if need be.

Oh! Well, I actually never looked into this because I decided I was going to have touch encounters for my game and only do random encounters on the world map, but I will give this some more thought in a couple of weeks! I will be done with my semester then.
Still looking for help on this after a month. Haven't touched it yet because I want to be sure I know what I'm doing before doing this. So...can anyone help on this? ^^;

Sorry, I've been busy. Still working on this?
You could just make doubles within the tileset and set each to a different terrain number instead. You've got some free space in that tileset there, and it's the terrain number on the side that dictates which bonuses are applied.
That tileset was more of an example of how many I had in the game. The ones I'd NEED to use it for (well, I'd have to do it for each of them I think), I wouldn't be able to cut corners like that sadly. ^^;
