(Also, are there some server problems? Posting takes ages to go through)
Not that i know of, posting goes instantly for me.
I think most people are busy with their Something, or else are busy with exams. Besides that, it is actually snowing in many of the Western states and provinces.
...what does snow have to do with posting...?
Anyway, I make a lot of posts but delete them before actually posting them, because I realize that I'm just posting inside jokes that would be much better on IM.
I also am an excellent lurker because I rarely shut my computer off and I keep sitting in the exact same forum alllllll day, refreshing the page, hoping somebody will post in my topics instead of me posting in theirs.
MODIFY: Also if we just start posting randomly then we will eventually have charas2 or the old rmxp.org (note that I said OLD, Despain, I am aware that you guys aren't as bad anymore and I'll stop dissing you constantly k bai).
^---inside modification (I almost deleted this modification)

Obligatory post
This and i Don't have anything to add really
I used to be a hardout lurker on this site, if you check my post history you will see that for like the first few months after I joined I posted hardly anything. I think I'm starting to post more though. Mainly due to Angel Spire being inactive and stuff.
I was a lurker on this site for the first few weeks when i joined. I remember my first post asking for help on a videogame. But since this site has gotten more members i have been posting more and more.
I think he means that people could be spending more time out in the snow then inside on a forum site.

They'd better be out in the snow. >.<
Summer gives people a sense of freedom. Freedom brings a 'I'll do whatever whenever' attitude. And that brings laziness. Even with things about posting.
That's part of the inherent problem anyway.

this topic is good.
I've actually been holding back from posting on occasion....not because I think my opinions don't matter (actually, I tend to assume my opinions are more important than anyone else's. And I mean in the universe) but because often when I post it's some sort of argument....one which I take to be friendly but which my experiences at GW have shown me can be taken to quite serious and angry heights. And I don't want to see that kind of vitriol here, so I often bite my tongue. Only not literally because ow.
Also, like Dudesoft said. I start getting paranoid when I see my name listed as the Most Recent Post on too many threads at once.

I haven't really been here very long, but from my somewhat short stay so far, I've noticed that everyone tends to spend more time doing moronic junk instead of anything involving games. It's ironic really, considering you would think that a website advertising that it actually talks about games and whatnot in one of their banners(unlike GW or whatever) would actually be doing the opposite.
Sorry if the wording is confusing in that last, really long sentence.

author=ariedonus link=topic=1292.msg20116#msg20116 date=1213506805I think it's mainly because we focus so much on our game-making that it's a good thing to relax with the rest of the community and have some fun. Or just the fact that it's moronic fun -- juvenile, but I guess that says something. I'm not really one to talk, though, since I rarely, if ever post anyways. Call it a character flaw.

You guys obviously don't live in New England/Canada.
What leads you to believe such a thing?
If someone doesn't have something interesting to add, I don't see any reason why they should post. There are a lot of times when I think about posting and I don't, just because I have nothing new or constructive to add to any conversation. Quoting someone else's post and poking my head in with a snarky remark will only go so far, and I think that its fine that most people think tis way, because we don't want our forums turning into a blithering mess of "First post haha!" and "wow nice screens" or "downloading" or "wow peeyew".
author=ariedonus link=topic=1292.msg20116#msg20116 date=1213506805The forum is not supposed to be the place for all manners of seriousness to be shown. The majority of people rarely visit the actual site, where the real action is to take place. The forum is more of a place to shit around.

You're exactly right. However, this topic alone has shown a lot of people having the "I would have something interesting to say but my stay at GW has conditioned me not to so I don't seem like an idiot", which is not a good thing at all. There's a difference in having discretion in what you post as to not seem like a moron, than being intimidated into not posting for fear of being having legions of GWites bum rushing you.
Yea, I think I have posted my opinions a bit more freely here and it's fine. Most people aren't going to GROUP FLAME you, no one is that lame here. Feel free to post your opinions.
As long as you don't post gibberish or a genuinely crappy/flame-bait topic, no one really cares. So go ahead and post.
I'll be glad to lock your topic if it is crappy, though. =)
