STREETS OF THE UNDEAD (YOUR THOUGHTS)

Sorry I was trying to be positive and encouraging and... didn't quite make it all the way :P

Please don't take anything I say off the top of my head as a personal attack.

The eighties things came up because that's when the 'Crack epidemic' happened and the history buff in me set off a chain of thoughts about what else was going on around that time. The CIA cocaine scandal, last days of the cold war and such.

As for the 'zombie hatred' I've never liked horror and usually avoid the genre all together. The modern zombie survival sub-genre in particular just seems to be the same shit done over and over again. Not my cup of tea.

I happen to watch a lot of Let's Plays and since so many recent games (note I wasn't even thinking in term of RM games) feature 'Z' type scenarios I got sick of "Zombie? Boom Headshot! Next Zombie." pretty damn quickly.

Obviously you gentlemen do not share my views or you would not be making the games you are making. :)

Nice I was a late 80's child but at least music was still good in the 90's. So is any music you going to put into the game going to be around that time. I can say I have seen some ok tiles for that well a lot of tiles. They have a future tile set you can but it is a bit to much though. Pretty much if you put any basses in the game or have the navy, army or airfoce bases are similiar. I would say marines but really there just a sub branch of the navy kida like how the air force and army used to be one branch. I'm going on a rant sorry.:(

Just keep you head up, do your best and plan everything around what you know how to do.

And don't change your mind halfway about what you want out of a project. That's what's killed every game or novel I ever started working on.

On the other hand... you guys got me thinking zombie. (Damn you!)

So tonight when I sat down tonight and started to 'seriously this time' work on my bible for my fantasy universe. Guess where I started? By listing the types of undead that might be encountered.

So I just wrote a full page on fucking zombies. Maybe that's a good thing? I'm not one to judge.

But yeah, if it's your personal preference, then I can't blame you. I just happen to really like the genre compared to say fantasy games. And get butthurt when people say things about it. But you have a legitimate reason beyond "lol zombies suck"
Just give them a chance! :D
