I'm using the Symphony battle system on VX Ace. The problem is that when the character is using a bow or a gun in a battle, he approaches the enemy and swings the weapon like a sword.
What would be the best way to make him stay still and not swing the weapon?

Looks to me like you'd have to use symphony tags to customise the animation for ranged weapons. I haven't used this system myself so I'm not sure how the tags work.
