[2K3] SILLY QUESTION, BUT CONCERNING CONDITIONS TAB

Yes, I know there's a Help file. No, Vista (and apparently Windows 8) doesn't open the Help file so I can't look at it.
Anywho, this is concerning the Conditions tab, and the "% chance to recover each turn". Now, I'm assuming setting this to 0% makes it so that it doesn't recover at all (until the "Condition always abates after X turns" has been done). However, I am not 100% positive on this, as I have statuses that lasts 20 turns and set to 100% chance to recover, and they last the entire 20 turns (from what I know anyways). Can someone clarify to me exactly what this does at all? I want to make sure that statuses that are meant to stick around, stick around (well, I can do that by setting both % chance and turns abate to 0, but I mean if I have Regen last 20 turns, I want it to last 20 turns and not just randomly go away).
Actually, maybe it'd be nice if someone had a tutorial or file like this in their locker or on the site. Would make it a lot easier to find data on this for those who can't use the Help file like myself, but I know that'd be a lot of work to do...

You can open old help files if you download the old help file reader:

I remember having that problem a while back.
I don't know the answer to your specific question myself, so I can't answer that directly.
As far as I recall with 2k3, the percentage is the chance that the condition will go away after the set number of turns has elapsed. So if, say, you have 10% and 3 turns, there will be a 10% chance after 3 turns that it will be removed. I could be wrong, haven't used 2k3 in a while. I think I might have to reinstall it when I get home so I can accurately answer all your questions, Xenomic. :P
...You could test...
You know, make a skill 100% and another 0% and see what happens?
What did happen to testing things out for yourself, btw? >.<;

It took a backseat to asking the populace of the forums of course! Nobody does things for themselves any more, silly Liberty.

You are right.

Yeah! That's right! Er...wait a minute, no it's not! I still do things myself. Just that I don't try to test half the things before I ask them (like this one) and figured it'd be faster to just ask about them.
I see...so if I really want to make a condition go away, I'd need to set it to 100%. But then that doesn't explain why it goes away after X turns if it's set to 0 turns (as I've had some set to IIRC). Unless I'm remembering wrong...

This means that the condition will never abate on its own.
I see then. Then I have some fixing to do on some statuses so that they go away properly (my Blink status that lasts 20 turns has a 50% chance to go away each turn...which is something that I don't want I guess now, since I want it to go away after all turns are done).
To have a status always go away after a set amount of turns, set the number of turns and the chance to go away each turn afterwards to 100%.
Alright, I'll fix that up then. I also got the Help file working again (thanks Raoul), and well, looking at Increased Evasion (which I was curious about whether or not it affected skills), I got this:
-> Increased Evasion:
Increases the hero's chances of dodging an enemy attack.
That's all it says on that. I don't know if that includes skills or not, or if it only refers to regular attacks. On top of that, does anyone even know how Evasion works in 2k3 at all?

Again coming from a position of doesn't-have-2k3-installed, I believe it only affects regular enemy attacks. As for how evasion actually works, I'm sure this was covered in my translated 2k3 help file, which I very helpfully no longer have a copy of.
Awww...would've been nice to see how some of these things that 2k3's Help file oh-so-helpfully describes work and all that. If it's only regular enemy attacks (which I know the "Evade all attacks" function in Conditions only works against, as physical skills will still hit regardless), then that means that setting up an Evade Up skill is kinda pointless. But if it's for both regular attacks and skills, then it'd be useful (which is what I was assuming and hoping Increased Evasion does).
From the Optimal Number Guide thingie that Craze did.
"Evasion (EVA)
I just dodged that kraken
EVA is an invisible stat for heroes. It is directly subtracted from ACC (I am almost positive), and can only be gained by ticking the "Increased Evasion" box on a piece of equipment.
I believe it works in either one of two ways, the latter being the more likely. I'd test more, but I really dislike 2k3 and nobody should use it anyway. If anybody could confirm either way, I'd be glad to hear it. In any case, it's a fairly sizable amount of EVA!
-Increased Evasion triples the miss rate of normal attacks OR
-Increased Evasion sets your EVA to 25% - so normal attacks miss you 25% of the time"
Now, assuming this is correct and that's all Increased Evasion does, then that pretty much means that me making this skill is all for naught really. >_<

What I'm wondering is if evasion equipment can stack or if they all just set EVA to 25%. I'd have to test this eventually.
