WHAT FINAL FANTASY MONSTER WAS YOUR FAVORITE?

although i have a sneaking suspicious you would prefer that people would spit noise at you so you can spit back :)
don't be an idiot. I've contributed more to this thread than most of you.
I'll have something up in an hour or two for people who want to talk about the theory of monster design and go into detail about designs they enjoy. I think it'll be good if this stays the topic for one-liners and pictures (from any game, if you please), while the one I create is where people go for the technical side.
you say there's nothing wrong with one-liners, and that's true, but I'm hungry for more than that. I'll see all of you in a couple of hours.
fuck, and I was drawing a banner and everything
(thanks ps can I PM you the banner or something I am like halfway done and I don't want it to be wasted)

Checked the concept art for The Void and the stuff for Patriarch and Mantid aren't that good so have some youtube videos instead!
Patriarch:
The headless sphincter-for-a-face eldritch abomination with a pot belly and little chicken legs with a walker who just wants to help you
Mantid:
I'm not even sure what to say exactly. He's freaky and cool and his cutscene voice fits him perfectly (I have no idea what or why the voices change for most of 'em when they pray in battle). The fight sucks but w/e.
I uploaded the concept art here if you want to check out the Brothers from The Void. The files are named after the Russian names, not the English ones.
Another favorite from Banana Nababa is False Raiden.
Skip to :50 or so when the fight actually starts.
You need to watch some of the video because the design goes beyond just a static image. You never see him in good light, the least you see is just his weak point and the most is his silhouette when the background flashes. It builds a lot to the atmosphere and menace the boss gives. I love it.

Well ok, will make the topic about all monsters from any game. :P
(for people who want to discuss other monsters). Let's keep on-topic for the most part though or else the topic will become very misleading. Something from here and there is fine, but don't go overboard.

Um what were those sea monsters in FF1 that gave a lot of gold? Those were my favorite.
Kyzoku. The blue pirate guys.
All-time favourit: Sahagin, regardless of the game. I love to imagine they have a story and life, but are incredibly stupid. So they find and attack humans for food, thus becoming a random encounter.
Because I was bored and love Sahagin:

Or Imagepooch enemy designs like for Sol Trigger or Final Promise Story.
Or VanillaWare monsters like for Masamune.

I can't forget my favorite silver-haired-dead-sexy-man~
SEPHIROTH.
I want to play with that hair. In the worst possible way. -wicked grin-

this one is the best. seriously.
haha not many people would post that last pic... i never even thought that he could be considered a "monster" but that's a pretty good choice.
@ Kat -- TOO MUCH SEPHY! MY EYES!!!
..."This" thing. When I was a kid, I never knew had to cast Rosa's "Slow" spell to make this fight much easier...until about a year later when I finally beat this thing. Took about twenty-four tries of utter failure and shame before I could beat this thing. Now, he's so easy it isn't funny anymore.

@Link: he is a monster if you think about it! He's certainly not human, no matter how damn good he looks as one. Heh heh. And I'm not 'many people', for sure~ I rather like that last picture, but I really like the third down.
@Addit: NEVER ENOUGH. NEVER. ;) I adore Sephy, if that wasn't painfully obvious. Such a fangirl.

It sucks people had to make this topic about anything and everything relating to monsters in games, but yeah, what can ya do.
As for FF monsters, I like to library book from FF9, me and my brother had fun with that fight when we first discovered it.
I like most secret boss monsters from the Final Fantasy games, they are always fun because they aren't a necessary fight to be done with. :)

i wish i could think like a kid again so final fantasy games could actually be hard.
being the final boss of the game, he technically qualifies as a monster. honestly, when i think of FF monsters, bosses's aren't in there. they are in a different category. maybe bosses should be excluded from this topic. just cause they are usually much cooler by default and that's not fair to those run of the mill monsters that basically carry the game. the bosses are lazy and sit in their towers waiting for you to get there. of course they have more time to spend on their costumes.
