CloseI like the new search too. The old search wasn't very effective unless you already knew what you were looking for and how it was spelt. It isn't as pretty as the old one that would show more than just links and brief blurbs but I'd chalk that up to the cost of being effective.

That's part of my beef. At a glance, I could see exactly what I was looking for. Everything was neatly organized; games up top and users at the bottom. Now it takes a little extra manual labor to sift through, not to mention all the duplicates (game page, review of game, screenshot of game, etc).
It also doesn't allow you to put in part of a name and get a result. On the last one I could type "The here and now" and The Here and Now of Yesterday would pop up in the search.
I get a 'nothing' result unless I CTRL + F5 the page. It's kinda driving me crazy. >.<;

The search bar doesn't work for me either. Like in other peoples cases it's giving me 0 results even when I type in the game correctly (though oddly it still gives me ads sometimes). It's sort of a pain for me too since as a tester I like to get back to the gamepage quickly after I find either game breaking bugs, or just have a substantial enough list that warrents me posting. Though it's also nice revisiting older games I've tested and just reading through the comments...
Anyways, I vote we start a petition on bringing the old search bar back (or having this one improved into a state to where it works correctly).

Firefox is what I tested mine in as well. I refuse to use ie, but I do have chrome.

Wait, people still use other browsers besides Chrome? ...Welp, the search works terrific in Chrome. No matter what username or game I type, it always comes right up; I can just type in "THANOY" and get THANOY on the fly! xD The results take a little bit to load for me but that's no big deal. And while the 'duplicated' pages can get annoying at times, I don't really mind them.
I like the Simple/Advance search idea, though. I would be cool if that could be implemented.

Wait, people still use 2k3? and Windows XP? and drive Vista Cruisers? ;P
I like using outdated and inferior products. Not being able to custom search on RMN doesn't seem like a reason to switch browsers at this juncture.

I alternate between FF and Chrome depending on what I'm using. Chrome takes up a lot of memory so I can't play games while using it, so I switch to FF. FF also has all my tabbed/favourited/dropdown lists which Chrome doesn't.
On the other hand, Chrome is great if I want to play browser games, read manga or use sites that FF hates (which usually isn't RMN, though in the case of the new search bar...)

I can't get the ignore button to work at all right now. >_>
I tried using it in Chrome and Firefox, even cleared my cache just in case, but nothing happens after saying OK to the "are you sure you want to ignore (username)?" message.
I implemented a fix for this...it's a Javascript fix though, so you'll want to make sure you clear your cache or do a hard refresh / reload of the site / account page.
The search works great for me...do you have something that blocks Javascript enabled? Although, i'm not really sure how you could use the site without Javascript...
I might look into implementing specific search options for individual sections, or an advanced search option. Search is hard, which is why there are whole companies who work on it.

I do like the search suggestions as you type which is good for searching games. To search users, for some odd reason, I only have been able to get kentona suggested.
