VIDYA GAMES YOU’RE THE MOST “COMPETITIVE” AT

I suppose I'd be competitive in Smash Brawl, and Pokes, if any of you have Pokes, I'd come over there and destroy you with my army of children's monsters. :P And be all like, mwa ha ha, first Pokémon, THEN THE WORLD!

Could I BE any more Chandler Bing from Friends (TM)?

Pokemon is the closest thing I've ever come to competitive video game playing (although only online). I haven't played in recent months, though - bored of the OU tier and too busy to get to grips with any of the others.

Speaking of "Pocket Monsters," the Pokémon World Championships is coming to my neck of the woods next week and all are welcome to come! (or so they say...)

...Maybe I should bring all my Level 100 "Silver team" and get the SNOT beatin' out of me by some fourth grader. X_x

(Actually, the original plan was to get some druken hobo off the street, give him my team of expendables and see how well he does in the ring against more experienced Poke-trainers. ^^)

TF2, Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh (before I lost interest in both), and Street Fighter.

Especially the first and latter, since I've sunk hours into the former and have played a bunch of SF games. But I try to be as fair as possible about it and let everyone have fun.
I love this game to death. I'm at the point where I'm pretty sure I could upload a Longplay and not be scoffed at.

Interesting concept with that hookshot, but my god that HUD. What's up with that??

Maybe they just wanted to be different???
I am so downloading this game.
Fighting games are what gets my blood pumping. Mainly Blazblue, but I dabble in King of Fighters, Tekken, and Street Fighter. Smash as well, though I'm really only any good at Brawl.
I would be very competitive at fighting games if I was any good at them and had people to play with. Turns out I'm only above average and have some trouble executing complex command inputs and simple combos, and my only sparring partner is a friend from high school I only see occasionally. Still, I have a pretty decent Ryu, and if we talk Smash then I can hold my own pretty dang well with Pikachu, my main man since the 64 days. My favorites are the hectic over the top fighters in the style of Guilty Gear, though those are sadly the ones I am less skilled in.

I am more skilled in Pokémon. When some of the Computer Engineering guys at my university organized a Pokémon tournament, I jumped at it. I spent one week planning, testing and tuning my team, ending up with a semi-defensive rain team of Politoed, Tentacruel, Ferrothorn, Toxicroak, Latias and Keldeo, with Substitutes galore. I landed first place without a single defeat, though with all the people that brought ingame teams and other poorly thought out teamssome of my victories were certain. There were some people that gave me trouble, and those were the most fun of them all. My intended game plan was a Toxicroak sweep, but plans almost never go right when somene else is on the other side trying to disrupt them, so Latias ended up being my MVP.

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

Latias is always the MVP.

I swear to god SubCM will never go out of style.

SubCM Latias is godly. It just doesn't die, and it can shut so many things down with a simple well timed Substitute. Like that time I subbed on an obvious Toxic from a Blissey that wasn't packing Seismic Toss and proceeded to effortlessly set up while laughing to myself. Or that time I predicted a switch to Weavile, which would normally place me on checkmate, and Subbed in response. Latias shrugged off the otherwise killing blow and OHKO'd with Dragon Pulse.

You know what, screw that. Substitute itself is god tier. It places you one step ahead of your opponent on the prediction game. It's a Get Out of Jail Free card for prediction mishaps. With it up, you can screw up once and come out unscathed. If you predict a switch but don't know to what, Substitute is always a safe choice. And to top it off it's also a great psychological warfare tool. No wonder it's my favorite move in the game.
