CHILDHOOD FRIEND ROMANCES

Hi, I am new here. I am searching for video game suggestions: could somebody please recommend me some games (preferably in a fantasy or sci-fi setting) which feature romance between childhood friends with a happy ending (with a conclusion, not a cliff-hanger one)? Something like Dragon Quest V and VIII, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy IV etc. The games may be either big ones or the smaller ones posted on rpgmaker (actually I am even more interested in the smaller, fan-made ones), but any game with such a plot that has a happy ending will do.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
I'm very much aware of a visual novel that has this, but, yeah, doesn't sound like what you're looking for. Though, when people ask about RPG Maker games with romance, Romance Walker is usually put forth as a suggestion. Might want to look it up!

Visual novels are ok too for suggestions, the important thing is they are translated in English, as I haven't learned Japanese yet, even though I am going to.

In that case, I'll go ahead and suggest this game. I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about translation on this one!
You should check out Lufia & the Fortress of Doom.
If you don't want to play it, you can read an LP of it by me!

I've been reading that Solitayre. It's good.
Did you ever do a LP like this for Luffia 2 per chance?

Nope. I'm sure the internet is awash with Lufia II LPs. Lufia I LPs are a rare commodity.
Glad you enjoyed it, though.
That's a shame, I think you could have brought a lot of insite into 2.
Unfortunately I never really got into 1. For some reason I wasn't able to pay much attention to the plot. I don't know why, but I think annoying boss battles had something to do with it. I managed to defeat the apprentice before kind of losing interest...
Fortunately you LP condenses the plot into something followable, and you manage to make the story seam much, much better written then I remember when playing it. You manage to turn something I thought was only vaguely interesting into something deep and meaningful. good job.
Also it's funny. I think this is my favorite part so far.
We already walked to Sheran once, came back, argued with the knights, left again, had a heartfelt talk with Lufia, and came back to Sheran again, in the course of one day. In the span of time it took Gades to rearrange Medi’s spinal column, Lufia ran back to Alekia, saw the Sheran refugees to the castle, argued with the knights again and ran back here. When Medi was little, he talked about playing in caves, and since the caves to Sheran are the only caves in the region, I’m forced to assume that even a small child could walk there and back in the course of an afternoon.
Rearrange his spinal column :) I may have to steel that line.
