HOW SHOULD I CREATE MY GAME?

I can get RPG Maker VX and RPG Maker 2003, and i want to know which i should use. Heres what im dealing with:
RM2K3:
-has a more traditional look with the textures and sprites.
-completely covers the screen (full screen with no black border)
-on the sprite maker website, the battle sprite doesnt match field sprites
RMVX:
-the way the textured are makes the game look similar to other rmvx games. (Imo)
-easier to use than rm2k3
-great scripts
Also, on a rm2k3 named vindication, the creator used the field sprites as the battle sprites. (But with different animations) does anyone know how to do that? Which rpg maker should i use? Better looking or ease of use?

Imo, either XP or VX Ace. Both are pretty good, and offer up a lot of great features. Though, since 2k3 doesn't use scripts you can pretty much make any kind of game you want, if you know what to do.
VX however, is inferior to Ace and even XP sort of..but there are an ass load of scripts for all three, so really it's up to you with which one you want. If you're not looking to spend much though I recommend XP, or try out Ace Lite which is free, but it has a lot of restrictions~ :)

The look of the graphics has nothing to do with the engine. The default RTP style is different, but you can use the 2k3 RTP in VX. It just needs to be doubled in size and arranged differently.
Open an existing battle sprite file in an image editor, and replace what is there with whatever graphic you want to see in battle.

VX Ace is the best for support right now.
The amount of scripts and tile sets for it
is larger than any other.
It really depends on how much you know or are willing to learn to do what you want to do with your game. If you're going for a traditional SNES-era Final Fantasy-esque RPG, then 2k3 is like that right from the start and you wouldn't need to learn or already know coding. With VX/Ace/XP, you'd have to add a script for that. If you're aiming for a really unique concept, or want to be able to create battle formulas yourself, then you should go with VX/Ace/XP. The full screen thing can be solved through scripting if you consider a problem. If you're going to be making your own resources, then 2k3 is easier because it has a lower resolution. I'd recommend VX Ace, simply because you have near complete freedom over what you make, limited only to what you're able to script.

That wasn't one of his options, likely because it costs 60$. Those two mentioned are free/cheap.
RPG Maker VX is 59,99$
RPG Maker VX Ace is 69,99$
Edit: Also, VX Ace was recently available on Steam sale with a nice discount.
Is the price really that different? VX Ace is what VX should have been in the first place, I hate it when new versions of games/software remove old features. I still cannot get over what mapping in editor is now like. Mapping in RMXP was much, much easier and better.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

RM2K3's battle character graphics are laid out in a pretty simple format. When I was making Vindication, I used a program called iDraw to edit their arms/legs/weapons into the different poses and laid them out in the correct arrangement. Which is one frame every 48x48 pixels, I believe. You can see how it works pretty clearly if you open up any existing BattleCharSet from an RM2K3 game, or even from the RTP.
