WHICH GAME DEVELOPERS DO YOU TRUST?

I had this discussion with a friend the other night on Skype after I realized I was extremely disillusioned by how exploiting players has become far more commonplace than it was in the past. It feels like there are just so few truly honest game developers left who gamers can really put all of their faith in. So, which developers do you guys feel can still be trusted almost without question?
I thought it over last night and settled on two developers. Coincidentally, I was playing a game made by one of them, Grand Theft Auto V/Online.
Rockstar never puts a foot wrong. Their games are always hugely expansive, remarkably detailed, and players are always given many freedoms and liberties. Rockstar isn't known to reach into our wallets more than they need to, either. Sure, Grand Theft Auto Online will have microtransactions, but can you blame them for it? The fact that Rockstar's being really nice and giving their players $500,000 in GTA Online for the numerous servers in GTA Online as their way of saying sorry is really nice. I've been playing casually for a week now and I've only just broken $100,000. Considering that they'll be offering cash cards on the respective stores of our consoles, this is a really nice gesture. They're essentially putting off the need for anyone to make any microtransactions for a while, and good on them for doing so!
The second developer is Bethesda. While they may have been partly responsible for pointless DLC existing (lol horse armor), they've rarely ever put a foot wrong. Their games always sell in droves upon droves, and absolutely nobody can deny the high quality of their games. The fact that Bethesda shrugs and lets their players basically do ANYTHING they want with the creation tools, almost negating anything Bethesda could do in some cases, is great of them as well. The fact that Bethesda treats the modding community as such an integral and important part of their playerbase is really worth noting. Not enough developers do that these days, with many of them taking the Apple approach and saying, "No, you're not allowed to tinker with our product. If you get tired of the same old content, you have to wait for us to make more for you." I don't approve of that stance in this day and age, especially with DLC becoming more and more prevalent.
Honourable mention to Naughty Dog for creating some of the absolute best games this generation (or perhaps even ever!) and not making too many stupid decisions. Sony's extraordinarily lucky to have Naughty Dog firmly in their pocket. Valve also deserves a mention just for being Valve.
So, how about you guys? Who do YOU trust?

Most of my entries to this list would be "Developer X was someone who games I looked forward to before they were acquired by EA." Westwood, PopCap, and BioWare come to mind immediately...
Now? I can't say that I follow any one particular developer over any other. I mostly play old games or indie games these days.
EDIT: oh yeah, Square/Enix would also be on that list, before they turned to SUCK.

Back in their glory days, I thought Blizzard could do no wrong, but to me their games and goals have taken a noticeable drop in the past 5 years, which may be related to their Activision merger. Nowadays I usually find myself looking up to indie developers, because a lot of them are honest and communicative about what they're doing and why. The only major video game corporation that really sticks out in my mind today is Nintendo, led by a president that would rather cut his own salary than lay off workers, and that doesn't care about the secondhand market of video games because they "strive to make video games so fun, people won't want to sell them".
Other than that... *looks longingly into mirror*

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Even though Diablo 3 was a disaster, I will allow Blizzard. They lost their reputation in my mind as "creates absolutely nothing except game-of-the-year releases" so Diablo 3 is the last time I buy one of their games based purely on the name of the company who made it. But I still trust them to make good games.
I mean, even Diablo 3 was good for the first sixty hours. That's longer than the total play time of most games. And they fixed the problems with it, eventually. Just... they waited to do so until after I and most other people had finished the game. And now they're like "Oh, we're gonna make another improvement... in a year. See you then." blizz y u announce an improvement to a dead game a year in advance instead of doing it a year ago, or at least doing it when the Xbox version was released
So um I guess in summary I still trust Blizzard to make good games but no longer trust them to make good management decisions

I trust Paradox Interactive. To a certain extent. I know that they will put out some amazingly bad stuff sometimes. But I trust that they are honest about it. Though this is Paradox as a publisher as a developer they tend to only put out amazing games.
Another one is CD Projekt. Similarily to Paradox I trust them to be fairly honest about what they are doing and also make amazing games. And they have a lot of goodwill with their massive free content updates.
Firaxis is a third company that I at least tend to trust. If I see the Firaxis logo on something I know that it's very likely to be a quality product. Though my trust is not massive. Unlike Paradox they tend to be slow with patching games that come out of the gate broken.
Though Square-Enix as a publisher of Eidos games seem to be pretty decent. (see: Tomb Raider and Deus Ex:HR)

Platinum Games / Clover is my favorite. Godhand and Okami are my favorite PS2 games and Metal Gear Rising is really slick. Not all of their games are bang up or appeal to me but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt any day of the week. I also just noticed that The Wonderful 101 is out and I need to go pick that up.
Nintendo is fifty fifty for me. They make cool shit like Mario & Luigi Dream Team, Fire Emblem is interesting, and New Super Mario Bros Wii has four player coop which is the best way to play Mario but at the same time Zelda Skyward Sword stunk and the newer New Mario Bros felt like more of the same old same old. Then there's the entire WiiU. I also don't know too much about who's making what in terms of games and they all end up under the banner of Nintendo in my mind, even if Alpha Dreams developed M&L (ps Partners in Time sucked).
Besides them, I can't think of any. I've lost trust in a lot of developers like SE (a great case of failing to transition to HD games) and Blizzard (see SC2 and D3). Or they're the Sega Ryu ga Gotaku / Yakuza team who aren't localizing their games for NA anymore due to poor sales.
e: Forgot Obsidian and Larian Studios who are fun and I threw money at their kickstarters.

I can't really say. I'm a pretty huge Nintendo guy, which I know is a pretty broad label. I tend to enjoy even the stuff that most people hate, and I'm excited for basically every new Nintendo first party release. The games may not be A+ a lot of the time but it's hard to deny the polish that they all carry. They also are generally less bullshit about DLC, now that they've finally adopted it.
The only dev that I 100% trust to make cool shit is Game Freak, I suppose. I love every Pokemon game, and their other stuff is pretty cool as well. There's Studio Pixel for Cave Story and Nifflas for the Knytt series.
Most of the companies that I used to love, like Square, Namco/Bandai, Bioware (from how things look), Maxis, and Rareware have pretty much all gone down the drain in recent years. I would name some more indie companies that I love, but really that market is only just springing up, so no studio has more than like, two games. It's hard to find a name that really sticks out beyond one project at the moment.
I follow Bethesda a lot, but outside of Fallout 3 and Oblivion I'm not that into their games, so I can't that I trust them to always have something cool on the go. From what little I played Skyrim struck me badly and TES Online was a weird idea.

Woa...
they've rarely ever put a foot wrong.
I'm not sure I can agree to this. afaik they swallowed id who used to pioneer the fps sector with really great titles, mainly quake. Now, quakelive as a tribute to mr. carmack and the fanbase pretty much flopped due to concept errors (f2p through advertising failure; moderation and censoring of everything to receive a T in an absolute adult game; complete company control and no modding or hosting chances at all; no lan compatibility etc. pp.). It's still somewhat alive, but never has been good. And it's not really f2p either, since the standard users are very much forced into paying. Not as bad as "pay 2 win", but definitely not entertaining compared to the 13 year old original quake 3.
Any "new" projects this devision comes up with, like rage (I think belongs to them) disapoint, too. According to the community, Bethesda is majorly in charge of the cons, not id themselves.
Their games always sell in droves upon droves, and absolutely nobody can deny the high quality of their games.
I don't know what else they worked on (appearently great stuff, I don't wanna disagree), but for ql and rage, I totally am in denial :p
The fact that Bethesda shrugs and lets their players basically do ANYTHING they want with the creation tools, almost negating anything Bethesda could do in some cases, is great of them as well. The fact that Bethesda treats the modding community as such an integral and important part of their playerbase is really worth noting.
Again, for my mentioned games that is absolutely not the case. quakelive is an fps where you can't host servers yourself, mod or map anything at all :D
Not enough developers do that these days, with many of them taking the Apple approach and saying, "No, you're not allowed to tinker with our product.
exactly what they did there ^^
The only one I "trust" to this day is rockstar, since they don't ruin big franchises I love by changing the formula completely and think it's all "progress" (like capcom with resident evil and squareenix doesn't take the best direction either). This can be wrong and they did a bunch of crap, I only relate to games I personally care for ^^
It's good to adopt and try changes, but forgetting about everything people loved - and put rpgs on EXTREME rails, or remove the survival-horror atmosphere from a survival-horror game and make it simple action - seems wrong to me.
Yet companies do that, so end of the day... I don't really trust a single one blindly xD
Bethesda doesn't own Id Software. It's Zenimax, the company who owns Bethesda. Quake Live has nothing to do with Bethesda, and they only published Rage.
Riot Games actually learns from their mistakes, for one.
Valve may take forever to release their games but the stuff they put out is always amazing.
Apart from that, I have to agree with RyaReisender. Indie games are more often than not much more interesting and original than triple A games these days.

ATLUS, even though I heard SMTIV had done badly gameplay wise, I like to think of that as an issue with their mother company being under debt. But ATLUS is great for both exposure for niche games and their series. And I would always look forward for any games they put out.
STING's Dept. Heaven, because they never failed to make unique games and even though their lore can be confusing, I love how they still manage to keep some interesting mechanics. I never really saw them doing anything else and staying true to their passion.
Kim Hak Kyu, created Ragnarok Online and Granado Espada. Although I wish he would make an RPG, His MMOs are the only ones I am interested in, and I still want to play Tree of Savior (Project R1). He has some unique gameplay mechanics and a huge part of my childhood. I've not seen him disappointing me at all or doing dumb stuff.
Keiji Inafune, the cancellation of MML was a huge blow but I would love to see him create a similar franchise and put it in Mighty no.9. I trust him a lot.
I would like to say Blizzard, but after the way they killed my favorite character in WoW instead of making... Warcraft 4. Idk, I'm just disappointed since I hate playing MMORPGs and it's just not same feeling the epic that I had in WC3.
I guess indie games wise, Konjak's work is the only one I'm actually following. Otherwise it's just, oh that looks cool *tries it out*
