I was talking to a guy, and he suggested disqualifying Pom gets Wi-Fi in every category it doesn't really belong in, but I was like "no man thats wrong".

Downloaded Pom and played till the Dog Park...
I can understand all the downloads since there are so many pet lovers in the world.
But voted best game ??? for anything ??? even the game maker said it was crap :)
There needs to be a better system to find games so anyone can find a game like this and be able to play it for their own enjoyment but also so a game like this does not get a lot of stars or recognized as a really well made game....
also, so a game that is really good, IS recognized but not downgraded by someone who does not like that type of game and gives it one star just to be mean.

I can understand all the downloads since there are so many pet lovers in the world.
But voted best game ??? for anything ??? even the game maker said it was crap :)

But I would not be upset to find that a slew of different games have more votes than either, though.

author=LinkisSadly in this world making a good game is sometimes not enough to get recognition. You also need a lot of luck. Pom got that luck, and got a Let's Play from Pewdiepie. I am not saying that to throw shit on it or anything, it's certainly a good game considering it was the first one the creator ever made. But I agree that it's not the best game on RMN this year. Well, this has been discussed enough already, so I'm sure most people that aren't here because of Pewdiepie agree, so it's probably useless discussing it anymore.

I understand that this is a People's Choice thing, but still...If I made a game with a rockin custom soundtrack and Pom won over it, even I would be kinda mad
Also, I think it's still on Best Demo despite not even qualifying for the category...
Frankly I think the characterisation in Pom is pretty well done, so I've no qualms with it being in the writing or even game of the year categories. And it's no longer looking to sweep so there's no need to be all hatin' over it for that.

This whole "$^&$ Pom" movement for winning all the Misaos is incredibly grating. The Misaos have always been a popularity contest and nothing else and I've been saying it for years.
The problem is that the Misaos are inherently non-workable. You cannot make changes without introducing bias. Making it impossible for sweeps to occur really just means you can vote only if the staff is okay with it.

What if nominations for Misaos are handled the same, but the actual voting is done by a panel of experts? Each category might be judged by past winners/nominees that are still involved in the community and aren't nominated for that particular year. This will also ensure that the people making the decisions have actually played all the games in their category.
