CloseI could barely get past the opening cutscene honestly. The fact you can't skip cutscenes is bullshit. It's like not being able to skip parts of a cruddy movie with good action scenes.

Nice work Squaresoft. There's a couple of million yen there not going to make back. Maybe it might have been a better idea to spend that money on making a remake of a game that could have really used it. Like, oh I don't know VII. You know the one game fans have desperately wanting a remake for at least a decade.
A total remake and a remaster are entirely different things with entirely different costs.

True, and judging from I've seen they didn't spend any money on the remaster. Is it just me is is Square just becoming incredibly lazy in the way there making games. At least for the Final Fantasy stuff.

Bravely Default wasn't made by Square though, that just published it. It was developed by Silicon Studio, who I have know idea who they are, but there certainly doing better than square.

The new music, new models, and new UI shows that they put a lot more effort into this than most other remasters. Misguided maybe, but calling it lazy is absurd.

The only thing that I find to be lackluster is the new, colorless lighting. But that's all the rage nowdays so, it's understandable.
