GAME ELEMENTS YOU HAVEN'T SEEN BEFORE, BUT WANT TO
Posts
I had an odd dream once where I was playing a game that allowed you to control your facial expressions and eyes while people talked to you, and they were actually reacting to me making stupid faces and rolling my eyes around while trying to have serious conversations with me.
Of course, that would most likely be totally impossible to implement, but that doesn't stop me from wanting it!

^ This. I want this capability in almost any NPC dialogue in an RPG. Make faces and see what they do.
There were fluid conversations in Façade where the dialogue changes (to a degree) based on what your character says. It was an entertaining concept despite the melodramatic ground situation and uninspired characters. I could see a simple emoticon system (i.e. click the :) or the :( or maybe the :|, etc. while a conversation is going on) that works the same way. Making it that seamless seems like it would be a little outside of rpg maker's default sensibilities, so you'd have to get creative with the system.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I think he was imagining something like the Kinect actually running off the player's facial expressions.
At least, I was. And now you are too. So there's a legit game element you haven't seen before, though whether or not you want to is a different matter.

I guess that could work, too, assuming the camera could take enough data points from your baseline expression and then provide a reaction based on the range in which each element of your face varied from that baseline during the conversation. How to actually DO that is completely beyond me, though.
It would make a great joke gift for a burn victim, at least.

Yeah, I obviously wasn't thinking RPG maker game with that.

I had thought of that when considering how the system would be possible, but this has the obvious problem of that you would need to be a master actor and deadpan comedian to keep your character from having a blank stare or stupid grin all the time.
Ultimately, the only real sensible solution is to just have "emote" buttons that only work during conversations that trigger canned animations. In the dream, I was actually controlling the eyes with the PS2's analogue sticks, as well as somehow deforming the face mesh with the analogue sticks, and also somehow still able to move around with the analogue sticks... Its a good thing dreams don't require any kind of logic.
