WYRM WARRIORS! THE LEGEND MUST GO ON!
Posts
For recruits, you can just convert character levels into variables, divide it based on the amount of party members, and round based on the level cap. You could even make it a set of call common events so it doesn't clutter the party events.
I just had new recruits raised to the last Level Cap. Which means they'll never be more than five levels behind and, like all the other characters, will get their levels raised when you beat the next plot-dungeon boss.
Just in case anyone missed it, the first demo for Wyrm Warriors is live! I'm still tweaking it (and specifically working on the way dialog works, right now) but I wanted to go ahead and get discussion started on the next region of the game.
The towns for the next region are Hoffzen (already mapped, thanks to Marrend :D) and Osis. I plan to introduce the first Aremen Diamond in this region, located in a dungeon inside Mount Arazia. Also, I was going to go with the Quartz Quarry for the next optional dungeon, and also where you can recruit Hitori. Anyone willing to make maps for any of these locations would be truly appreciated, but if not, I'll take care of them ^_^
Speaking of Hitori, I had planned for her, Geebone, and Nira to be new recruits from this region. I still need two more characters, so feel free to voice suggestions and volunteer your own characters, especially if you can think of the details about how they would be recruited into the party.
Thanks for all of your help! :D

I didn't even realize Hoffzen would be in the next region/demo. Though, maybe you're putting it there because it's ready-to-go?
What kind of character tie-ins are there in respect to dungeons? I'm kinda thinking that a dungeon with a character tie-in might be a way to get party members. As is, when players get to the dungeon in question, the character is there, doing... whatever? I dunno. I guess I'd have to look to see what the tie-in description say about the reasoning why the character would be there.

Actually, at one point in the planning stage, I was considering putting Hoffzen in the first region given that it'd make sense, since Rosie is from there. As it is, I imagine she was on some errand for the Hoffzen elders (or just visiting a friend) when the curse hit. Or it could even be that the elders sent her to the first region, foreseeing that she'd be needed there.
At any rate, my only reason for Hoffzen to be in the second region is for Rosie to be able to visit and for some side-quests, and, if you think it's more thematically relevant for Rosie to push Hoffzen back to a later region, it certainly can be done. (The fact that you've mapped it just a happy coincidence).

Well, Hitori is a character tied to a dungeon, as she's looking for a way home (as LockeZ put it on the Dungeon thread:)

Hitori the Magical Girl is from another dimension, so tying her into the Quartz Quarry would make sense. She's not the kind of character I would expect to really get any development or side-stories though. So maybe she could join the team there? She could be trying to find her way back home, but join the party when she learns about the Wyrm Wizard.
But we could certainly use another character who leads us to the Quarry in the first place. Someone who needs something from there, or someone who wants to go there? Aside from that, I don't know if we have any tie-ins to Mount Arazia, but it would be easy to add some in, what with the cultists and bandits in that area.
Maybe Magical Girl gets teleported into a dungeon when it's unlocked and you meet her trying to find her way out or something like that. We've a pretty weird cast of characters, I'm sure one or two could manage to find their way inside the locked dungeons somehow. XD
Oh, how about another group of heroes who just so happened to consist of enough people to unlock the dungeon too? Or course, it'd have to be early on since I imagine they're going to need more and more people. OR, how about your group goes to one of the dungeons and don't have enough (missing one or two) BUT the needed people are at the other end of the dungeon and because both doors read the required amount, it unlocks. Then you meet the other group inside.

Nice, these are some great ideas! ^_^ We could definitely do something like this for the next curse dungeon (which would be inside Mount Arazia).
Remember, also, that the optional dungeons don't have to be locked, so we can have characters in the middle of those dungeons a little easier.

SO we can't return to plot dungeons to grind? Anyway I'd better play it and see how exactly it works. Anyway, if you want ideas, textures, or other stuff- music maybe- let me know. Maybe the Aremen Diamonds get stronger from finding the heroes?
Nope. We're going a bit experimental here, so grinding for EXP isn't as freely available in this game. Exploring/Grinding for gear in optional dungeons, however, should hopefully give you the edge you need if you find the Curse Dungeons too difficult.
And at this point we'll take any help we can get! :D

For your future reference, it's spelled "Aremen". This has been a public service announcement.
