I FIND IT FUNNY WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT BILL COLLECTORS.

Bills aren't the most pleasant thing to wake up to, yes, but what can ya do? Everyone's gotta have their dollahs.
And yes that dinosaur topic was fucking legendary
LOL, to my defense I was drinking some when I made that topic, but not sure that really matters haha. Everyone is allowed a stupid momment of the year and that was for sure mine.
I find it funny myself. I have family memebers who don't pay their bills, and it's usually because they are poor at money management - they blow it on things they don't need. The funny thing is, they act like that they live in fear. Every time I'm over at their house it's:
"Don't answer the door, it could be a bill collector. Don't pick up the phone, it could be somebody calling about a bill."
So they live in fear, afraid to even pick up their own phone, and pretend it will just go away. Then they scratch their heads and wonder why they got a letter saying they're being sued, and when the court date is.

I made a huge error and did credit and collections for 30yrs.
Collectors have a bad reputation and some of them deserve it due to the company they work for, or their attitude toward the person owing the money.
Many people are given credit when they can't afford it or are even talked into signing on the dotted line when the creditor knows they will not be able to pay their bill.
I worked for a finance company whose policy was "if you think you can collect the debt, go ahead and make the loan." Also, I collected for a bank who collected on loans for young people who were talked into going to truck driving school and the company KNEW they would not be able to get a driving certificate so would not be able to get a job to pay off the $20,000 loan.
There are many reasons for a person not being able to pay a bill....

My main issue is when it goes wrong. And it will. Even if it's only for a few people, having a debt collector on your back when you actually are completely innocent and don't know how the hell to deal with it is scary and generally Not a Nice Thing. Granted my experience is solely on second hand anecdotes and shit on TV, but they don't seem particularly open to discussion, and you NEED TO BE OPEN TO DISCUSSION with serious things like debt collection. Or not you, but they.
