TOO MANY IDEAS

I've recently finished my first game and I think it's time to start planning the next one. However, it seems like I'm having a bit of a problem choosing which game to make next. It's so that I have a lot of different ideas of games I want to make, but I just can't decide which idea to go with.
There are some games I REALLY want make in the future and there are others I'm not too sure about. All I know is that my next game shouldn't be too long, 8-12 hours perhaps. It shouldn't be too advanced for me either, since it will be my first ACE game.
Do you have any experience/tips on this subject? I hope I'm not the only one who finds this difficult :P

I find it easier to be motivated and make fast progress on a short or minimalistic project, or on one that is already fully planned on paper.
You may want to estimate how much time and effort it will take to put your game together: writing stuff in the database and using RTP resources is usually simpler and not as time-consuming as browsing the web for other resources or coding/scripting your own gameplay systems.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I’ve found that there are three types of games that pique my interest: games I want to make, games I want to have made, and games I’m good at making.
Games I want to make are games where the process itself seems really fun. Maybe the mechanic seems really fun to experiment with, or maybe there’s a character I really want to animate.
Games I want to have made are games where I’m more interested in the result than in getting there. Maybe it’s a “no-limits” concept (“OMG, GTA meets Final Fantasy meets Starcraft meets…”) or just a neat idea that’s not necessarily any fun to implement.
Games I’m good at making are games that are suited to my personality and which I have experience in making. Perhaps there’s a certain genre that you naturally gravitate towards and which you understand the rhythm and flow of very well.
In my opinion, the ideas with the most potential (to be finished, at least) fall into all three categories and also satisfy the requirement “I have the time and resources to actually make this”.
Those are all some very good points. I guess I should just choose one of my ideas and go with it. It's easy to get caught up in thoughts and after a while, you realize how much time you've wasted and how little you've accomplished.
Thanks for the wise words, fellas! I'll start working on this project, once “I have the time and resources to actually make this”.

I have the same problem. I figure like anything else in life, you just have to figure out which idea you'd want to spend your time on most, and go with that direction to move in. You can always change it up down the path, if it's not working for you.
It's cool to focus on different aspects of the game in chunks too. Focus on the story for a while, and start writing things down some day. Focus on the art for a day or two when writing gets tedious or boring. Then spend some time focusing on actually putting the stuff together into the game for a while.
I have ADD, so I get bored kind of quick with certain tasks sometimes, unfortunately. Changing it up keeps it fun, and new ideas come to you when you start to focus on each aspect again on a different day.
