Closeoh hehehe. Now that I've got my dramatis personae( Three playable characers, a villain, and a few other things... I need to get them sprites and stuff. and actuly start doing maps.

That's been a pretty irrelevant point in previous contests. Such games only usually get a participation award (if any exist), and nothing else. In poor Liberty's case, I think it's more about how she has a number of games (We shall not name specifics) that are on haitus/in progress that have been on the wayside way too long.

Since this isn't an RMN event and is actual (big) cash prize-worthy I can't justify to myself to actually join in with an entry that would be up for the running. It doesn't sit right with me and I'm sure it doesn't sit right with the others, considering the prize. I could join in the effort of creating a game in a month and not actually go for prizes outside of the Badges for RMN (capital B because they're special~) which I might do. Maybe.
Then again, Column B - a crapton of games I've started and yet to finish and should really be focussing on instead of yet another new game.
So, yah. No joinery for me, I'm afraid~

This is my first contest, and I'm finding that working on a strict deadline like this is quite stressful but also really keeps me on-task, so I'm in this zone of GET IT DONE GET IT DONE.

i think deadlines are a good thing because having limitations helps you decide things. the only thing you can do wrong is give up.

Well spoken, now I'm going to expect you to finish a game too.
Deadlines are great. They are pretty much the only thing that motivates me to start something. (I never actually finish by the deadline, but they get me to invest enough time into the project that I feel compelled to finish them eventually. Hero's Realm, Hellion, Solar Platypus, Village Brave and the escape from Dread Mountain, and Aether Pulse are all games I started as a result of an event. Not a single one of them met the deadline.)
So I actually decided to make a game for this, but it's guaranteed to be last place. :P

Same, I'm useless without a hard deadline or a partner who's relying on me to get shit done. If I'm just on my own with no pressure I'll dawdle and experiment forever.
