POKEMON PLAYERS?

Therein lies the problem. The region of Kalos is junk, the entire game was just a framework to improve the online & battle experience. As someone who cares nothing about competitive gaming I wasn't a fan.
A mediocre framework at that. It was filled with a lot of superfluous ideas that didn't actually make the game better, but made it worse. Take the terribly tedious horde encounters, impractical sky battles, and the abysmal Pokemon riding segments for instance. They looked good in the promos, but LORD was it disappointing to find out what they actually were.
X & Y is also the only set of Pokemon game I've seen so far that failed on a technical level, besides Red and Blue. It had framerate issues, terrible camera angles (gotta love Luminose City >_<), and the stereoscopic 3D was too selectively used (Considering games like LoZ: A Link Between Worlds and so many other games could handle the 3D feature being constantly on, this isn't really excusable). Heck, even mini-games like Pokemon-Amie was partially broken, since the 3DS camera would barely recognize your facial expressions, rendering one of the core features of that side-game utterly impossible.
All of this, and the lack of new Pokemon to make this game feel even remotely new (to give Game Freak some credit, they went with quality over quantity with their new species, given many have signature moves, unique evo methods, new type-combos, etc.), made the Kalos experience shallow and obnoxious for me to play. Right now, I'm only playing it to try to complete my Pokedex, but I'm more than happy to let the game just rot as soon as OR/AS is released.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Online pokemon PVP battling, without spending two hundred hours breeding first.

I guess others have a different opinion than me. I loved the game, and still do. Will a pokemon game ever outshine the days of Gold/Silver for me? Probably not. However I do enjoy each Pokemon game I play, and will probably do so until they finally pull the plug
Oh I love me some pokemon!
Quite so, quite so, especially Jhoto.
I use that ;o

I feel like they really screwed up Pokemon with Mega Evolutions. They could've used it to balance the use of Pokemon by giving them to Pokemon that are rarely used. Dunsparce, Corsola, Spinda etc.
Apart from Sableye and Mawile, they chose to give Mega Evolutions to Pokemon already super popular, like every single starter, Lucario, Salamence, Metagross etc.
Ugggggh they turned it into Digimon. It doesn't feel like Pokemon to me anymore.

Mega evolution was another idea that worked on paper, but I think for marketing reasons, they made the mistake of giving it all to Pokemon that were already wholly viable competitively, and not fully realising its value for Pokemon who are underused by comparison. It's still pretty fun to use, though, and it actually created some team diversity with the competitive game, to a certain degree, though I understand where you are coming from.
So anyway, I'm trying to breed for a shiny Makuhita. I have both the shiny charm and I'm using a foreign Pokemon for the Masuda method mumbo jumbo... And after roughly an hour's worth of attempts I still don't have a shiny. This game hates me. :(
I agree on the whole "Popular vs Necessary" Mega choices. I had this argument with a friend of mine. Aside from Altaria, Sableye, Mawile, Aggron, and a few others, they are mostly picking Pokemon that are popular with people rather than ones that could really use the boost. I hate this mainly cause already powerful pokemon are becoming even MORE powerful, to the point where they stomp legendaries. Not cool Nintendo, make legendaries legal for tournament play then. I could list a ton of Pokemon that could use a Mega over Blaziken, Lucario, Salamence, Metagross, Mewtwo, Garchomp.
Mightyena, Swellow, Sharpedo (this one fits flavor too), Minum, Plusle, Raichu, Noctowl, gen 2 starters, Liepard, Omastar, Kabutops, Delcatty, Machamp, Luxray, Mismagius, Ninetales, Arcanine, and the list goes on and on and on.

A lot of those Pokemon were just weren't keeping up with the tiems (Lucario) or are better than their own Megas anyway (Garchomp!). Are you forgetting stuff like Medicham, Kangaskhan, Audino? Manectric? Houndoom? Even Pinsir.
It seems to me that Game Freak was very careful to make sure that Pokemon who were already good got Megas that are niche compared to the base form with a real item.

If they keep giving pseudo-legendary Megas it's gonna be complete bullshit. They should be increasing the want to play other things, not things that already see play (even if the mega is worse it doesn't matter).

Ha! Who needs to breed a shiny makuhita when you can find one on a whim and catch it in Ruby? And delete the save file cuz I was 10 and didn't know the sheer value of a shiny (I was giddy when I caught it tho, at least I knew it was something special!)
