HOW DO YOU MAKE FRIENDS?

Hmm I treat everyone here as my online friends, even though they may not treat me as so. But I do have several close online friends here :)

I jabber on about game design in the forums here until someone gets intrigued enough with my games or I get intrigued enough about their games for us to exchange AIM screen names to talk about game design and help each-other on our games. Then sometimes gradually we also start to talk about other things.

Oh, I'm sure I could tell you guys a few stories, but I think the most basic thing it boils down to is; just strike up a chat with someone or leave them a message. You'd be surprised where it'll go. :D

I usually just act like a charismatic insufferable prick and people just warm to me basically instantly it's like a gift for getting friends half of which I wasn't even really interested in.

Oh, if you want advice on getting friends? Just be yourself and be interesting, find in yourself your defining traits and embrace them in a way that makes you enticing. I mean, that's what I do.

Obviously all kinds of things. (and all kinds of perversion)

Mainly - having fun, doing stuff together, discussings things, common interests (hobbies or goals or philosophies), helping each other out, growing, sharing a bit of one's life, introducing one to new friends/circles/interests ... it's all about sharing.

I find that you aren't lonely when you're alone, but when you lack self-expresssion. Friends give you other opinions, views, and ultimately immediate feedback to whatever you share with them.

They have any kind of influence on you, noticed or not. The people you stick with say a lot about what kind of person you are in terms of habits and views.
Some encourage you to do more, others may drag you down just as well.

They can be all kinds of things. But they obviously don't need or should be all of them, which is why it's better to have a circle of friends rather than that one friend.
You can't confide in all friends, and not all friends are "close" friends anyway.
It could just be that one fun person to be around who you only do sports with.

I usually sit around and wait for them to come to me.
I've yet to see results.

Mostly I just annoy and alienate people over time. Plus I hate having expectations and responsibility thrust upon me, and friendship is rife with that. What a hassle.

My friends don't expect anything of me, because I've given them the impression I'm a silly jerky shake from day one. For them it's like this honor to be in my presence and I don't even know what makes me so irresistable to these deranged people but they're awesome to speak to so who cares.
