I've never seen an anime that was better off for being dubbed.

Watching it subbed is like watching South Park or Powerpuff Girls in another language. Just feels unnatural.

I'd say it really depends, most are better in the original language, but I know some that I like more in English.
Not an anime, but for example I like Valkyrie Profile's English voices a lot more. They are more serious and pronounce stuff more dramatic.

Also I like animes in my native language (German) more in many cases simply because they allow for deeper and more serious voices. Especially often fits better to villains than their Japanese counterparts.

For example it was a long time very hard for me to watch One Piece in Japanese, because all the voices sounded so silly, not like I expect pirates to sound at all. But I got used to it (had to because the series was dropped in German).

The biggest advantage of watching the Japanese animes however is, that they aren't censored.
