RPG MAKER 2000/2003 GAMES ON PSP [ TESTERS WANTED! ]

The EasyRPG Project is trying to bring back EasyRPG Player PSP support due to popular demand.

EasyRPG Player is a free, open source, cross-platform RPG Maker 2000/2003 game interpreter (replaces RPG_RT.exe).

Our mate Carstene1ns ported EasyRPG Player and seems to work in PPSSPP. However, he doesn't have a PSP, so we need testers to check if this works on a real PSP device. Currently needs custom firmware but it is possible to sign the eboot to make it work on official untouched firmware later, if this test works.

eboot download:

Mini-FAQ:

Q: PS VITA support?
A: No idea about PS VITA support yet. Maybe it works for the internal PSP emulation with a custom firmware (CEF or ARK). Wanna test for us?

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

Could we maybe get some screenshots of this running on PPSSPP? I know that doesn't do a lot to confirm authenticity, but it's better than just asking us to download a random .zip file.
If you get a 80020148 error might be related with unsupported PRX type, your CFW could not support some unsigned eboots.
Reported by Carsten from a device with 6.60 LME-1.8.

Somebody here with a 6.60 PRO-C2?
I have a PSP v1 somewhere. No CFW but when I want to run unsigned code I just boot into HEN which was signed back when the private key was cracked. I can give version numbers tonight and give it a spin (if I can find a mini-usb cable so I can transfer stuff over)

Neat, thanks. Or via memory stick if you have some card reader somewhere, but I guess you have usb only.
Found it and a cable, charged it, and it's OFW 6.60 and it isn't HEN anymore, it's soft modded to 6.60 PRO-C2 via a signed app.

I downloaded the zip and dumped an entire game into where it says (the game data like Map####.lmu and RPG_RT.lmt is in the same folder as the EBOOT.PBP). When I start EasyRPG I gives the game cant' be started with error code: 80020148. The game I tested was Demon's Gate, one of my games, which doesn't require any external trickery or anything of the sort.

Tried a different CFW: 6.60 Pro-C, same error. I heard Pro C-2 has issues with playing PS1 games and to use Pro-C1, still trying to find it (assuming Pro-C wasn't it).

e2: Based on my searches either the explicit Pro-C1 is gone from the net or (I assume) Pro-C is it
Thank you GreatRedSpirit, all firmwares tested reported the same error. Same with a 6.20 Pro-B genesis edition.

This error was present on very old Player builds before dropping them due the lack of maintenance. I'll inform here about new builds where available.
That's unfortunate. I'll give it another spin when you post the next build!
Testing right now it running nicely so far.

Could you tell which firmware and PSP version do you have?
I had demo'd a really old version of this several years ago with my own project. I recall that it launched to titlescreen, but starting the game immediately caused a crash. I suspect it was because I had used a no-titlescreen patch in the original version.

I will dust off my Vita and see if I can get it running on VHBL. That download in the first post is still the most recent version, yes?

Maybe was an Interpreter bug, the BetterAEP patch doesn't crash with a few games tested at least. The link in the first post always points to the latest build, and is pretty recent, yes.
