THE HIGHLANDER'S TOMB (TEAM FORUM RPG)

"A thief? My, my, my... what a motley crew we are. A demon and a thief... Hmph. I don't care if you ARE a thief, there will be no stealing from the townspeople! You can take what you like from the tomb, after all it seems the Contractor WANTS us to do that, but no stealing from townspeople! I insist!"
am I causing trouble I am aren't I
"Hmmmmm... Well, er...
Well... j-just don't let me catch you stealing anything. A-and don't tell anyone that I told you that!"
I'm still righteous, right?

Looking slightly puzzled I turn towards Razuna and, trying to keep my voice down, I say: "Wait a second, did I hear that right? You're a half-elf, you just told us you that you are a thief just like that, you have a white raven as a pet and his name is Gourd?! ...Well, that's not conspicuous at all...
Whatever, as long as you do your job well down in that tomb, I won't complain - but don't try anything funny, you hear me? We can't afford to get in trouble with the townsfolk now. And believe me, I've shot my share of bandits since I started working as a mercenary, so you better watch it.

Oh, by the way, here's what I had in mind we absolutely need when descending into that tomb: Obviously, first of all, more and better weapons. Then we should also find enough food and drink, and some medical supplies and bandages in case anyone gets injured. We definitely need a long rope, preferably with an attachable hook, a shovel, torches, equipment for lockpicking, and of course some sacks to put the treasure in. What do you think, did I forget something?"

-------

P.S. @wildwes: Don't worry too much about whether you're causing trouble. You're just playing your character, after all - that's why it's a role-playing game. :)
"Looks like you pretty much thought of everything! Y'know, I think you could as well be the leader of this party, I could do that, but I'm not exactly the guy who likes to give orders and being in a leadership position, I'm more the kind of guy who follows orders and kills everything in sight. What do you think of that?"

A very brief smile appears on my face. "Why, thank you. You'd be fine with having a woman be in charge of this group? Seems like some of you demon folk have a lot more brains than many humans after all.
Though I don't think we really need a "leader" in the typical sense. We all have very different talents, so for efficiency's sake the one in charge should always be the one who knows what they're doing. I mean, I do know what I'm doing right now, but let's say we come across some magical barrier or something. Then it'd probably be up to you and the paladin to decide what to do. I think who gives the orders should really depend on the situation. After all, we're not soldiers, right?
"I guess you're right about that. I'm just saying that if you were the one who took the lead in this quest, I would definitely follow you."

*thinking* "Yep, step by step she will be mine..."

"You all said what your profession was, so why shouldn't I?"

"If I decided to steal from them, they wouldn't realize it until we were at the entrance of the tomb."

"Believe me, I've shot my share of bandits since I started working as a mercenary, so you better watch it."

"But you haven't found anyone like me."
"I don't believe you missed anything there, Kairy! Perhaps we could find that rope, shovel, and those torches over by the Miner's Camp? Do you think they would mind us using their equipment? Perhaps we could find some lock-picking equipment and some spare sacks there as well. The word lock-picking leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason... And perhaps the Inn of The Order Of The Ethereal Crown has some spare food supplies?"
"I'm more interested in checking that house across the lake,
But that doesn't sound bad either."

In response to Razuna's comment from before: "Good, let's hope so."

Then, turning towards the paladin: "Right. Good thinking, Wes. Though I was about to suggest that, after we've bought equipment at the weapons shop, I and maybe Razuna go hunting in the forest for a while. I've done that a few times before on missions when supplies were short. That way, we could gather some food for free and maybe even sell the hides for some extra funds. And perhaps we'll find some edible plants as well."

Answering Razuna's suggestion: "Hm, that building looked abandoned. You think maybe someone left something useful there?"
"That house certainly looks like it could have something of value there, maybe we should consider visiting it. By the way, is there something that we may need in the Antique Shop?"

"Maybe, but I'll check that later..."

I paused for a moment.

"Going to the forest sounds like a good idea though."
Oops, sorry I'm late! Wouldn't you know my internet dies the second I join a forum game. Lemme read and decide what to do~

I look at the demon who's been glaring at me this whole time. Shooting him a half smirk (because a full smile may put him off) I address his policy towards not harming me with "Fair enough. I can't make you like kids if they bug you. I'll have you know that I like some one who can kill things. That'd be you, right? Oh, and don't worry about me being an angel. I most certainly am not. I'm here because I am nothing like I seem. I think we'll get along - we're a lot alike."

Though Kairy had tried being discreet about their qualms with Razuna, it didn't escape my eyes or ears. Respecting that Kairy desires some degree of confidentiality, I turn my own voice down to her "Well you have to respect that Razuna is so direct. If anything that's a sign we can trust them!" I shoot a warm smile at Kairy. They're quite smart! Someone a little more intellectual than Wes would be a good change of pace. Don't get me wrong - Wes is absolutely my favorite person in the world, but he can be... lackluster in the brains department.
"I absolutely love your plan! You're so smart - I hope I'm as smart as you one day." Having stuck up for Razuna, made where I stand with Zuko clear and established my respect for Kairy it was time to return attention to my old friend.

I turn towards my paladin companion. I tug slightly at his armor as to request a lift onto his shoulders. He's used to me not speaking so much to him.

"Let's go the camp!" I agree with him happily while looking up at him hopefully.

Sheesh, talk about bad luck... Anyway, glad to see you're still with us, Gourdy. Welcome back to the team.
Alright, I've made my first post!

Thanks for welcoming me back NeverSilent!
So it was just the internet dying, that's good! I was already planning to talk to seiromem about the posibility of replacing you... I was joking, don't worry! I wasn't joking...

Anyways:

I answer to Bazily:

"We're NOT alike, AT ALL kid! Besides, we still have to head to the weapons and armor shop, in case you forgot!"
Oh, good, you're alive!

Welcome back Gourd!
I named Razuna's Raven in your honor.
"Well we could go in any order, but I agree. If we run into trouble at the camp, for whatever reason, it's best to be ready. We'll probably be fine. I have faith in our group. It could be seen as rag tag, but I prefer to see it as 'rounded'."

I'll be going to the store with Kairy and whoever comes along~

I also love that there are 5 million different spellings of my name going on.

Edit: @Ilan14 I'm glad it's complicated - the different spellings are funny!

@JJJ Yeah, I saw! I was like ooh I'm a bird now~<3 Thank you now I may gouge out enemy eyes to my heart's content!

You chose to have a complicated name.
