Yay, another recruitment thread!

About our Game
Our game is a call back to classic JRPGs, making something that we grew up playing. Such is the story with most indie developers today. What makes this different is we want to make a game that is both fun to play within the battle system, and outside the battle system. We also wanted to create a game that challenges even veterans of the genre, pushing strategy as the main game focus. As far as the story goes, we wanted to create a game that engages the player and creates philosophical discussion, while also establishing a mythos and a world.
About Us
We’re a brand spankin’ new indie developer, and with that comes some challenges. See we’re a bunch of High School aged kids who just want to make a JRPG in RPG Maker VX to start our game-designing career! But as everyone knows, it takes a lot to make a professional game, so we tried our hardest in working with what we had, but it wasn’t without obstacles. In the words of every kickstarter page in existence “That’s where you come in.” We need some help… we need help to create a professional, JRPG that features unique experience but also retains some of that good ol’ Final Fantasy VI wonder that retro JRPGs had. It might also be because retro design is a bit easier to crack into… I know, I know “Get to the good part! What do you need?”
Well, we need some um, more fundamental stuff.
What we have:
-Game Designer
-Level designer and builder
-Art director
-Temporary artist
-Cutscene/cinematic director
-Writer
-Music composer.
What we need:
-Spriter
-Artist
-Programmer
I know, I know “All the heavy lifting jobs!?”, but as we have no prior experience with any of this stuff we’ll need some real help.
As the spriter, we’ll need you to do the following: All Character sprites, Bosses, NPCs and Enemies (Holy crap, such a tall order!!)
The spriter will have a tall order, and not to mention we’re asking for free (Oh god, you kids are screwed, good luck finding anybody who’d do that) sprites. Listen, we’re setting out to make a free game, we’re not trying to make any money. So we’re really looking for people who want practice or just want to commit a good deed for kids who are dedicated to pushing this game. We can’t promise any money, we just don’t have it. We’ve got things all our money is going to, such as college and rent. We’re asking for a lot, we get it, but anybody and anything is super appreciated, will be credited and always remembered.
The Artist will need to be capable at, creating anime/manga style art. They will have to do art for the following: All characters, NPCs, Enemies.
Again, no funds to give any artist. I know, I know, artists need to eat too! But we’re just kids, broke kids who just want to put this game out. It will be a labour of love, and we totally understand if you can’t put forth a super-honest day-in-day-out effort. We get it, but again the things we can offer are our appreciation, credit and we will never forget your service, meaning that if we start to make games that involve money we will contact you first, that’s all we really have.
The Programmer: We need someone whose versed in RGSS2, which is what the RPG Maker program runs on. The programmer will have both little, minor things that are on par with chores in addition to having major things to do that will reflect on the basics of the game.
Again, this tall order but what else can we say? Poor kids, want game, please help. We totally understand if you just decide to do it in your off time or if it’s something that you can only do for a short period but any help is massively appreciated.
