It might be... I can't honestly reply since I've never played anything on the GBA. I've played the DS port of chrono trigger...

I think I'm just gonna sit this one out lol.

Your art's a nice mixture of cute and creepy! If you have more to share later you should definitely post it over here. http://rpgmaker.net/forums/creative/

Maybe when i have something more polished I will :3

I have to colour them digitally and digital art is one thing I'm not so great at. Honestly when it comes to colouring I still get my sister to do it. I still have a lot to learn...

You won't learn fast that way x.x Do it even if it looks bad and have her tell you how to fix it instead.

I gotta say the anime/disney comment is something I have never heard before. Really? To be honest the art's kinda loosely inspired by the adorable anime art found in Mogekos' games. And the face guy stands out cause he's a concept sprite from a horrorish game lol. There are some others like him I've done but coming up with the sprite ideas is pretty hard...

It's mainly the bottom middle one and right middle. They have anime faces but the hair and bodies look disney-ish. Although it's hard to see they're so small!

I'm not sure what Mogeko is..*searches* Oh, yeah I can see it.

So is he really pulling his face off? Cause it also looks like it could be another person biting the top of his head. I just watched Silence of the Lambs for the first time a few weeks ago so that was fresh in my mind haha

If you ever hear that Windows 8 sucks because the start menu is missing it's an easy download to get it back. Classicshell. That's all. And backwards compatibility issues are not guaranteed.

Soul Blazer looks pretty cool. Does it have a port? I'd love to try it. And I think playing a game with that same mechanic would be pretty fun, my favourite part of rpgs is collecting stuff and collecting parts of a world is even cooler!

Soul Blazer has a US release. I think I played the cartridge when it first came out but I beat it as a ROM. It plays like the old Zelda games, which is one of my favorites(duh). Plus the soundtrack is so bomb. I actually listen to it often. On my PC, on my phone, in my car xD Town theme is the best.

If you like the gameplay there's a Soul Blazer 2 and 3, which were released in the US as Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma. Neither have the same town building gameplay.

The japanese version of Illusion has a town of cannibals. But of course 90's censorship wouldn't allow that. I think you see skulls and bones around but there's no explanation why...(they got ate)

I could go for Persona 2. I hear a lot of good things about the series.

:3
... I know. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that stuff.

Sorry about the size. I don't know why but it looked way bigger when I first posted it. As for the face guy, There's a little face biting him and he's trying to pull it off at the same time. Let's just say he had an unfortunate incident with a hat lol.

Thanks for telling me about it. The cannibals sound fun too but they were censored :( oh well. I wonder if I could play it on an emulator.

Yeah, there are some cool things in Persona 2 like the storyline is interesting and the rumour mechanic is pretty cool. Compared to P3 and P4 it feels like a completely different game.
I personally enjoyed it the second one nowhere near as much as the later entries, but granted, I only played the first half and the age simply does show. It's still a very decent game.

And I recommend the SMT series as a whole, since you seem to be okay with a more dungeon-crawling focused game. Especially SMT III Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga and Devil Survivor (the first).

oh also sorry for double posting earlier. I can't figure out how to delete the second one either OTL
I wonder if I could play it on an emulator.
You really should!

I don't think I could tolerate dating sim like gameplay. I just want to fight fight fight.

I can't figure out how to delete the second one either OTL
You can't, but don't worry about it. It happens quite a bit. I've even seen a "double post" that showed up like 6 times haha
Well, you don't *need* to do the social links if you don't want to. And to be fair the actual dating sim parts are shorter than actual dating sim games.

Fighting is probably my least favourite thing because of all the grinding you have to do. The first time I played P4 I was pretty new to the whole "grinding concept" and ended up screwing up so badly I had to make a new account >-<

Considering you like to fight fight fight though, you might like it. When you don't have to grind binge the fights are pretty fun :)
Eh? Well, you fight a lot, but you don't need any additional grinding .. and how could you screw up your whole game file? o.O what did you do?

It's a decent battle system. Perhaps too simplistic, but you still have a lot of room for tactics to go through with it while staying underleveled. It's decent fun and the difficulty options make for a good balance for all kinds of players. I know more who are concerned about the battles than the rest. And not talking about dating-sim fans here.

P3 is perhaps a tad more strategic, as you can build some odd crit-boost-combos (and need to since you gotta do all battles by yourself .. in the original at least) P3P is faaar too easy, though. I breezed through maniac. P3 is a tick worse overall, though, and has more time spent in dungeons as opposed to the game world while the dungeon itself is much more repetitive.

The dating sim appalled me as well at first, but it's really better than expected (and much more fun than those of any dating sim I ever played while we're at it..) - firstly, it's not just dating. You won't ever start out as dating, either.

Most of it is just being friends - and perhaps going a different route for girls if you so choose (you don't have to become their girlfriend, you know).
The characters are actual characters. Sure, stereotypes are included, but not as platonic as you're used to. Feels more natural. It's more of an accompanying feature than anything else. And, as blessbunny mentioned, you can ignore it almost completely if you so choose.

You grind your life-relevant stats and have some quirky humor involved. Beef bowl challenge is all I'm gonna say.

Still, if you can't live with these elements, then that's fine.
At that time P4 was probably one of my first JRPGs so I didn't fight any enemies I didn't have to and I was massively underlevelled when I got to Kanji's dungeon, I couldn't beat anything and I couldn't leave either. Just plain old noob stupidity I guess.

Anyway the grinding is more of a complaint with P3's Tartarus, but then again my gameplay style was to play till I got to a miniboss every time I unlocked a new floor so it's somewhat also my fault. I'm the strange person that fight's every enemy I see to get as much exp as I can but hates grinding... P4's dungeons were a lot more enjoyable for me, especially Void Quest.

Kylalia have you seen the anime? I loved how they stuck a reference to the beef bowl in there :)
I see, that sucks.

I have seen a few episodes. It was far too rushed for my taste and skips most of the depth, but my brother who couldn't bear the dungeons appreciated it a lot. It did cover a lot of quirkiness : D
And the beef bowl has to be there. It's a great way to raise stats, too!

And as for P3 .. I agree it's less enjoyable, but did you play P3FES or P3P?
P3P had P4's battle system mixed in where it didn't belong. Seriously, I avoided all enemies I possibly could, had crappy weapons/armor, went once into Tartarus to get all sidequests and still had no trouble at all.
And holy cow, you did not have to knock down all enemies by yourself.. that's so odd. You could use the others ... very odd indeed.
.. but I tend to have an easy time in general with these kinda things.
Yes, I did. FES was way hard! - by which I mean, Aegis's side story. The challenge was a great motivator though... Yeah, I didn't really like being able to control everyone in P3P either. It took too much of the challenge and strategy away. At least they had those kidnapped people sidequests to liven things up a bit.

The real draw for me was the female protagonist to be honest. I was so dissapointed that you couldn't date Junpei... even though I know it wouldn't have made sense but in P3 and P4 you get to date all the opposite gender party members!
FES was quite alright, although your counterpart is so horribly, horribly weak^^

I never wanted to, so that was fine by me : D
They did screw with Akihiko, though .. ugh, I liked him before he turned into the cliché mush .. his lover ending glitched for me, too :/

It would've been fine to use the team members, as long as the game adjusted to that. But it didn't. The down change (implementing dizzy) also made all those critical-chance improving stuff so much stronger as well as those with down-bonus. You could exploit it so heavily.
I won quite a few bossfights simply by boosting crits, then normal hit and then using down-status attacks. No healing needed. Nothing else needed. Going maniac.
I played a lot of grind fights just hitting auto... which let's be honest, is not something you want your players doing lol. I wonder how Golden compares with the combat system? I don't hate a Vita so I've been really curious about all the changes for a while now...
Not sure about the changes to golden, but Persona 4 adjusted to both the dizzy status and the team member selection (as it was both there from the start, duh), so it was much more balanced. And I believe Golden kept it that way.
I saw this great screencap from Golden of Kangi doing an imitation of Venus de Milo and now I really want to play it! How does something like that even happen...?
Thay added more funny-animu-esque scenes, costumes (with costume slot! no longer sacrifices needed) and that kinda jazz along with the option to go out into the city in the evening, an extra dungeon and these scooter-thingies.
So ..
