Well we all seen the movie, so know we all know that a game is might come out for it. The question is do you guys think that the game is going to live up to the hype.
.....
Do I think that the game is going to live up to the hype? I really dont know. The game might not but I dont know. Plus with Heath Ledger gone, r.i.p, I dont even know if they will have a game for this movie. What do you guys thing?

My point on movie videogames, they suck period. Well maybe with a few exceptions but give me more than 10 that weren't crap (not including any Star Wars games). It usually seems to do with the fact that they're limited to making you follow the movie, and they usually have mediocre gameplay that seems to have been rushed like their just trying to throw something in.
If they do make a game out of it, which I bet they will, don't get your hopes up for it. The best I can say is atleast they didn't make one and release it before the movie. That trend seemed really stupid.
Basically, amazing movie, probably crappy thrown together game unless they actually take their time to make it good.
Edit: Total number of suggested good movie games- 5

Yep, there hasn't been a REALLY GOOD movie game yet. There have been OK movie games, like Spider-Man 2, but in most cases the games are just gawdawful.

I wonder if that's a fair comparison. There was a Riddick trilogy, movie and cartoons. It might have been more of a serious project than just a quick cash grab.
Batman Begins was alright actually, come to think of it. The problem I have with movie videogames is that they're never fleshed out or complete fully. They have some cool gimmicks or tricks, but that's about the long and short of it. I played most all the Harry Potter games, and the usually end up being balls. (Chamber of Secrets was awesome however, despite the atrocious storytelling)

Funnily enough the same goes for Video Games being made into Movies.
This is very true. Though, not quite the same kind of true. movie games tend to be quick renders, tossed together to pull in the movie-fan dollars.
Whereas Video Game Movies are trying to make money off ideas from a series of videogames. It's hard to simulate gameplay in an action film without it being a B-movie. Can you imagine in Tomb Raider if it was no dialogue and just a bunch of swinging to the next platform, missing and falling into water so she has to climb back up and try again?
VG Movies fail because we love our games too much and want a carbon copy on the silver screen. It doesn't translate. Don't take this in defense of the VG Movies. There simply shouldn't be any. Mario Bros? Double Dragon? Street Fighter? PUKE.
The best they've managed was DOOM and only for the FPS scene and Imp costrumes.
@Tau: I'll agree with you there bro, escape from Butcherbay was a very good game, almost perfect imo.
Lion King and Aladdin on SNES were pretty good. In those days SNES was good for movie games. SEGA not so much.

Goldeneye
If they do make one, it will probably be better just because it wasn't trying to match the movie's release date.
The hulk's movie game (the original) comes to mind, it was a great game that came months after the movie was out.
I think it'd be really great if they took a free-roam direction with it, like in spidey/hulk games. How awesome would it be to drive around in the batpod?

author=Eric the Brave link=topic=1617.msg26405#msg26405 date=1217920103I have too agree. I think the makers wanted a good game for this movie and I think it deserves a good game. So I give them two thumbs up for making that move. I hate when people rush the games, thinking only to make a quick buck.

I actually have Aladdin and Lion King for the Genesis. :( I'm the only one in the world who will enjoy these.
Well I got my issuse of Game Informer today and guess what....they are making a game, but it is not for the movie. Actually it has nothing to do with the movie. It setting is moslty in Arkham Asylum and the batman is a much darker person. Like graphic novel dark. (The whole place is dark. Might be rated R)
