Also, before the game started, wasn't Libby talking about how much it made her squint her eyes and laugh every time Cave or Gourd said, "I'm a serial killer?"
Then again, I do recall Cave asking Libby to stop talking to us so much, which could mean she was saying stuff he didn't want her to say.
This could have been at a completely different point in time, though. There's been a lot of pages.
And you've already pointed out that Cave is not acting his usual, illogical self, except sometimes and that we could feel free to unignore him.

I don't think Cave is the serial killer. He may have an item that lets him kill people though? Having a gun wouldn't make him suspicious.
Also I think you've kind of misinterpreted our explanation of Cave's playstyle. He certainly is illogical for a large majority of the game, but he's far from a useless town who never contributes logical thoughts to the game. The serial killer thing is probably a joke since it's been a reoccurring joke for a while now.

My thoughts today fall in line with those of Unity and Wildwes in their previous posts. So far the behavior of Ilan and Pianotm fits the profile of new, insecure townies quite well.
I think Ilan is probably a bit more suspicious because Pianotm has actually been playing a bit more aggresively, whereas Ilan has been very conceding. Now (as last game has clearly illustrated) it is possible for the Mafia to take the aggressive approach, but I'm still not really expecting that behavior here. Especially since there is only of them. I'm expecting that the mafia is planning to avoid any conflict right now, and isn't getting under anyone's skin.
On that note, I think Majorican King has been playing very passively. His substantial posts are far and few between, and in them, he's displayed a tendency to avoid confronting others players.
He also avoided the Ivory lynch yesterday. I'm pretty sure that was just to make sure no one would blame him, which is very timid behavior. It looks like he really doesn't want to draw any attention to himself, which I find find kind of suspicious- because it would make sense for an Assassin to play like that.

all the cases so far suck. the one on shinan is the best. the only thing is, if he was scum, i do not think he would be so brazen, with his items shit.
was gonna save this for after game was over, but the reason i told liberty to stop replying to people is because she directly influences peoples' opinions. moderators should be an outside force, not influencing reads. when she quotes someone demanding to know what protector and spy are and answers them, that gives the impression that the person asking was not a spy or protector. you can modify this for any scenario where she replies to someone.
obviously this runs both ways, and i think players directly asking the moderator questions in thread sort of put them in an unfair position, and these questions should be posed via PM

I'd rather off Shinan first because Cave Dog is at least entertaining.
(Also, most of CD's weird behavior is just how CD rolls so I'm more inclined to give him a little latitude.)

I think Shinan should probably be lynched if he's going to actively lurk like this. Whether or not to do that today is kind of up in the air. I don't really have anything else to say on the matter, but maybe our serial killer will deal with Shinan for us and we'll score a lucky win? Or maybe the assassin will figure Shinan's being quiet to stay out of the light and kill him.

Everything I do new, I do aggressively. Passive doesn't get you anywhere. You learn by doing as much as observing. If you only observe, all you'll ever do is observe.
As for MajorcanKing, if I didn't interact with him so much outside the thread, I might be a bit more suspicious. In fact, I probably should be, but right now, I'm just not sure. Shinan has done things in this thread that I'd look sideways at irl. He still hasn't given one good reason to lynch Sooz. Nobody has. It was that more than anything else he did that convinced me to vote to lynch. I may be new to the game, but lynching at random seems like bad gameplay. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about that.
If someone can convince me that Shinan is town, I'll vote nolynch again. I just don't feel strongly enough about anyone else.
It's good to lynch everyday so as not to give mafia a free night - but always lynch on an educated guess if you don't have solid proof. Random is generally bad.

I don't think there's any inherent problem with random choices versus guessing based on behavior; unless there's a really egregious slipup on the part of a guilty party, it's pretty much the same thing.
But trying to figure out the bad guys based on behavior is part of the fun of the game, so that's what we do! :D
