I figured the thief wouldn't take it cause it served him no use. I hadn't thought about him stealing it so no one could use it.

That was a lot less to read through than I expected.

Okay, I read this: MajorcanKing got two items from the animal roundup, possibly three if he checked two stalls. So he could have gotten two items from the game and one as a reward. Also, reading through MK's posts, his denials don't come across as lying but as simply failing to provide useful information, which is something he does in regular, non-Mafia posts, too. Like I said earlier: it feels more like he's here loitering than actually playing the game.

The fact is, he could be the Tenkai Star, and if he is, that means we risk losing the game.

In related news, I've come to another conclusion about Shinan...people are saying that Shinan wouldn't be acting the way he is if he was the assassin. This theory doesn't sit well with me.

1) If Shinan were vanilla, he wouldn't be making these bizarre posts that would assuredly draw a potential lynch. (The argument is that neither would the assassin, but that isn't necessarily true, and I'll explain why in a minute)

2) Shinan only post a couple times a day. On the day one phase, he posted the first day what seemed like nonsense, the second day he posted to check the stalls and only check the stalls, and on the third day, he became active for the final lynch, getting an item from Happy, and on the second day phase, complaining two days ago to Libby for not giving enough information on the lynch and murder victims. (Libby acquiesced but I wikied and she is right; the player isn't entitled to information about lynch victims and murder victims it's all optional. But this is just an aside.)

3) Then Shinan asked about item abilities. This was probably the most he's ever participated in this game, complaining to Libby and asking about items. Yesterday, he goes silent again, only appearing to lynch Sooz, for no good reason, and then today to cancel his vote and lynch Dudesoft, again for no good reason. (I know why Dudesoft isn't participating much. He's doing the best he can with what little time he has, but I'm not putting that on Shinan, just the weird vote decision. What little bit Dudesoft has participated is to help town.)

Conclusion: Shinan is only participating the minimum amount that Libby said we have to. Libby said we have to participate every day (does that mean day phases? No it means IRL), and when he has nothing useful to say, he posts nonsense. I know he's not too busy for us because he's on the rest of RMN. Is he playing a good guy? Good question. He's doing lynch worthy things.

Why he could still be the assassin:

He may be right, but Shinan's only reasonable post on page 70 detailing why he voted Sooz and Dudesoft would only add to that feeling. It's the Cave Dog effect. He acts way scummy but that's just Cave Dog so nobody lynches him. In otherwords, we're all ignoring the class clown. (You may consider that a weak argument, but it works. It's keeping Cave in the game even though everyone has stated that he should be lynched. Why shouldn't bizarre behavior keep Shinan in the game?)

Then again, it's all theories, I could be absolutely wrong. Still, I'm keeping vote for Shinan.

Heh, sorry, I wasn't trying not to be helpful I just wanted to wait so I could make a decent argument without repeating other people or looking dumber (though at this point it seems inevitable).

Because it's not entertaining. You can't just act weird, you have to give me a reason to prioritize someone else who's equally assy.

I did not get an item from Happy. I was the first to vote to lynch on the first day and I picked Happy (which is no doubt also massively suspicious, but we need to get the lynching on eventually. There's no action in this game that isn't suspicious. except for whatever cave dog is doing. No one seems to suspect him). When Happy did his thing it was 4 am in my timezone (and his, he even mentions it in a post) and I slept soundly through the whole bribery phase.

The whole role description thing was just a weird bit. I understand if no role information would be given but it was half-assed. When ivory died we got the information that the character was vanilla. When people died during the night we got the role names but nothing else.

Now I could have accepted no role names or "this guy was special but I'm not telling you what the role was". But naming the role without saying what it is essentially means a couple of things.

On one hand if the role is one that is well-known then people who have played mafia before will know what the role does and thus veteran players are more advantaged (as if they aren't already). On the other hand if the role is a red herring that is nothing like the well-known role it is named after it is something that deliberately adds (even more) confusion to the game. (which I guess can be a good thing if that's what you want)


Interesting by the way that Happy just isn't participating at all this day. Maybe he was so certain he was going to die in the first night. (or more likely he's just busy)

Also, it look I might be fighting an uphill battle, so I'm still not sure if I want to vote for shinan. Because: I) I don't think he's the assassin, and II) I'll probably be lynched the next day anyway.
