Oh yeah, that guy. Been a long time since he appeared...

"Geez! If you keep running off like that, then you're going to get yourself killed!"
Malcolm exclaims as he approaches you.
"Sounds like someone has a crush..." you say teasingly.
Malcolm turns red, but it looks more like an angry red than an embarrassed red.
"More importantly, I just did some crazy screaming thing and fought off a Lupricobra with it!"
"Uh, what?" Malcolm asks confused.
"Hm, I wonder if that's what I think it is..." Cobrian seems lost in thought. "Could you show me?" he asks.
"Oh, maybe! Next chance I get I'll try."

Glad you're back Gourd! So, just to clarify (and in case someone else wants to post something here): The other path, is the path the Lupricobra ran off to?

"Well, you guys do whatever, I'm going to chase after that Lupricobra." You say before dashing away.
"Wait- whatever." Malcolm yells before you hear footsteps that tell you they are following you.
You race down the wide hallway trying to catch up to the lupricobra. Just when you feel like your lungs are going to give out a door bars the way. The other two catch up and you are annoyed to see they both are barely sweating while you are baent over gasping. "You are way more out of shape then I thought." Malcolm says with a smirk.
You straighten up and shoot him a glare. You are going to say something back to him, but Cobrian interrupts you. "Do you hear that?"
"No." You and Malcolm answer.
"Sounds like there is fighting behind this door. You two better be ready to fight."
With that Cobrian taps the door and it goes flying off its hinges, flattening a soldier underneath it.
"Why can't you just make us invisible again?" You ask.
"Its very tiring to do, and I'm out of practice so holding it for as long as I did was too much. I don't want to risk passing out at a time like this." He answers before stepping into the room.
You follow him and get submerged in fighting. You pull out your machete and feel lost. Everywhere you look you see blood and hear screams of pain. You had gotten into skirmishes back in the village, but those were quick and relatively clean. This is war. You are overwhelmed, just watching the carnage. Your knees get weak and you can feel them start to give out. A shout snaps you out of your stupor. You glance over to see a lupricobra running toward you, this wasn't the one who injected you, but he was lupricobra none the less. The being jerks to the side as a bullet hits it in the head and it goes down, not moving. You see Malcolm aiming his gun at the unmoving corpse, before three more guys force him to duck into cover.
You tighten your grip on the machete and open your mouth. The scream started as a normal yell, but built up in power before it leaves your mouth. The room shakes and people cover their ears. The fighting stops as everyone tries to protect themselves from the scream. Finally you have to take a breath and stop screaming. Everyone looks up at you in shock. Before you can smile in triumph hands wrap around you and tug you backwards. you are thrown over your kidnapper's shoulder and he runs away.
A door closes and you are thrown off the shoulder onto the ground. Not even thinking you roll to your feet, machete at the ready.
"I told you I just want to take you somewhere safe, someone in your condition shouldn't be fighting." The lupricobra said.
"I never did catch your name."
"I'm Kren."
"I don't like it."
"You don't have to, because I'm going to keep you asleep until you give birth."
He reaches for you so fast you almost don't react in time. Unfortunately for Kren, the hand you swing to stop him holds your machete. You slice of his hand and he falls back screaming. You kick his legs out from under him and he know kneels before you.

I think this has stagnated long enough. Little update: So Gourd has been with out internet for quite a while, so he allowed me to write the next part :P

-Leave him, he isn't worth your time

You take a deep breath and sheathe your machete. To satisfy yourself, you spit in his face. Then with your head held high you walk past him. As you go to leave the room, he stops you. "You're going to regret this, you know that right?" He said matter-of-factly.
You look back at him, and are really tempted to go back. However you knew he isn't worth your time. "I regret a lot of things, what's one more?" You say before leaving him alone.
You enter the battle field to see it is practically over. You appear around the corner just in time to see Malcolm to place a bullet in the last Lupricobra's head. The human soldiers had already surrendered. They were on their knees, hands behind their heads. You step up next to Malcolm, and he smiles when he sees you, but quickly smothers it. "I see you managed to survive." He says.
"Yeah, I did, and you did too. That's good, who else would I kick when I get bored?" You ask jokingly.
Cobrian walks up to you and asks; "What happened to the Lupricobra?"
"I left him minus one hand." You explain.
"You left him alive? That's dangerous." Cobrian scolds.
"He lost one of his hands, I figure he isn't a threat anymore." You say in defense.
"That may be true, but it would have been better to kill him, just to be sure."
"We can worry about that later, but right now we have a General to find and plenty of soldiers who will be happy to give us the information." Malcolm interrupts.
You look at the soldiers and says "Sephiroth, deal with them. I want to get this done as soon as possible."
Sephiroth nods and sets to learning their secrets. You turn to Cobrian to continue the conversation, but before you can Malcolm interrupts again. "Where's Darvelle?"
You search the crowd of faces and don't see him. You are about to shout for everyone to search for him, afraid he might be dead. However one of the soldiers laugh. "It's too late! Darvelle is probably already at the control room." He shouts.
"What is he talking about?" You ask frantically.
"If he is to be believed, it seems Darvelle is a double agent." Cobrian says in his always casual voice.
Then the lights go out. People start moving closer and tense, waiting for whatever is next. There is a roar from a few different doorways leading into the room you are currently in. "What's that!" You shout again.
Only silence follows, broken by the same soldier saying "You are all going to die."

Well, if nobody else is going to post...

-Yell for everyone to run
-Yell for everyone to run

Between the darkness and the ever approaching roaring, your courage shatters. Terror fills you, you can't stay here. "Everyone! Run!" You shout before turning and racing away from the roars.
You stumble your way through the room, then trip over something on the floor. You land in something sticky with a metallic smell. You don't have time to think about it before someone stomps on you. Three more people trample over you before a pair of hands haul you back to your feet. You can't see who it is, but you recognize the voice. "It wouldn't do to have you get trampled to death." Cobrian says.
You turn and run, but quickly stumble over more items on the floor. You feel Cobrian's arms surround you and lift you off the ground. "It'll be faster this way, I can see in the dark." He tells you.
You can't argue as he moves at a pace you think is faster than you could move. Although it is hard to tell between the darkness and his near silent steps. After minutes pass he puts you down. "Listen to me, this is going to feel weird at first, but the itching will go away." He informs you.
Before you can ask what he is talking about you feel his hands touch your temples and electrical shocks hit your head. At first it tickled, but it quickly became painful to the point that you were afraid of passing out. Then he removed his hands and the pain faded slowly. "Open your eyes." He ordered.
You open them, and to your surprise you can see. It is in black and white, but you can see. "You're lucky, if you didn't have any Lupricobra DNA in your body, that would have killed you. But the DNA allowed you to heal fast enough to live." He tells you.
You look around the room to find yourself in a lab. "Is this permanent?" You ask.
"As long as no one changes out your eyes or another Lupricobra changes it." He says.
You continue looking around the lab, interested looking around it. You walk over to a table, which had multiple neatly organized test tubes on top, and another table with papers. Unfortunately science was never your strong suit in school, so you were completely lost. Then you approached a locked safe near the back of the room. "Hey Cobrian, what do you think is in here?" You ask.
He picks up a few different pieces of paper and reads them over. Then he goes over to the table with the test tubes and reads each label. "My guess is something called Agent L and its antivenin, according to this inventory sheet, it is the only thing not on this table." He says.
"Agent L? What is that?" You ask.
"I'm not sure, but it must be important to whatever research is going on here, we should take it just in case."
A roar comes up from right outside the door and something bangs into it.
"We seem to have been found, the door might hold long enough for me to get the Agent L and the antivenin, but it might not. It's your call, do we chance it or not?"

Grab one of the tables and use to barricade the door whilst Cobrian gets the Agent L and the antivenin.

"Okay... You get the Agent thing and I'll barricade the door." You say.
Cobrian nods and walks over to the safe and you grab a table. As you go to push it you realize it is a lot heavier than you first thought. You give it another push and then stop, gasping. You don't think you can push the table, but there is nothing else not bolted down. Without another idea, you push again. This time in stead of weariness setting in, you feel a surge of energy pulse through you. The table gives and you push it against the door. You keep pushing against it as the thing outside the door tries to get in. The banging stops and you stop pushing, waiting to see what will happen next. Then the door gives in and the table slams against you, sending you across the room. You hit the wall and the table slams into you. The world explodes into pain and you nearly lose consciousness. You push against the table and it falls away from you. The thing stood in front of the doorway on all fours. It had the head of a lion, the body of a tiger, and a tail with barbs flicking back and forth behind it. Cobrian was turned away from the safe watching the creature, two glass vials in hand. You look into Cobrian's face and see something you never had before; fear. "Cobrian?" You say.
He looks at you, then shouts run! Before he tosses the vials to you. Normally you would have missed catching them, but for some reason your reflexes had been put on overdrive and you caught them without any difficulty. You turn on your heels and run towards a glass window, and kick a nearby stool at it. The stool shatters the glass and you nimbly jump through, letting your instinct take control. You run down multiple hallways and crash into someone, quickly rolling back to your feet, ready to fight and defend yourself. Standing there in front of you was Malcolm. He turns on a light that illuminates the whole room. With him is Sheera, who had blood running down her arm and the men in Fedoras and trenchcoats. You note that the finally aren't playing poker for the first time since you met them in the bar. Instead they were holding big intimidating guns."Valerie?" Malcolm says, looking horrified.
You look over at a nearby window and see your reflection and gasp. You walk over to the window. Staring back at you is you, but half of your head was bloody and caved in, one of your arms was bent at an odd angle, and half of your hair was missing, gone with skin that was missing down to where your skull was showing. You touch it, remembering what you used to look like, trying to put the pieces together. Before your eyes your skull pops back into place with multiple pops and cracking noises. Then skin grew back along with your hair. Within a minute you look like you had imagined. You turn to the others, they raise their weapons and aim at you. Malcolm walks up to you and slams you against the wall. "Who the hell are you?" He shouts.
"Maybe they can shapeshift." One of the Fedoras say.
"I'm Valerie!" You shout.
"We can't be sure, we should kill her just to be safe." Sheera offers.
"Is there anyway we can tell if this is the real Valerie?" Malcolm asks.
You get an idea and in a smooth motion kick Malcolm in the groin. He lets you go and whimpers. "Yep that's Valerie." He sobs before falling to the ground.
Then you hear the sound of fighting and the strange creature you saw slams into the floor near you. Quickly behind it is Cobrian and another man you never saw before. He hits Cobrian, who slides a few feet to a stop.

The man whistles and the terrifying creature comes to his side. The man stands eight feet tall with broad shoulders and rippling muscles. His hair runs in a braid down his back and he wears nothing but pants. You stand beside Cobrian, who looks at you with wide eyes. "What do you think you are doing?' He asks.
"I'm helping a friend." You tell him.
"If you're okay with dying, then I'll accept any help I can get."
"What are those things?"
"I'll explain more later, but they are killers, so no hesitating when we engage." Cobrian tells you.
You see Malcolm stand next to you, followed by Sheera and the Fedoras.
"We may actually stand a chance with all of this help." You say.
"Not likely." Cobrian says, killing the joy that had begun to build in you.
The man's signal was so subtle that you almost miss it. His hand twitches and the creature beside him launches itself at Cobrian. They meet and go tumbling away. Sheera shoots off a bolt of light, which you didn't think anything could dodge. However the man did exactly that. He started loping forward, and the fedoras empty their guns toward the man. He got hit by multiple bullets, but they do little harm. "Well, that takes guns out of the equation." Malcolm says, throwing his guns down and pulling his machete.
he rushes forward and swings, aiming for the thing's neck. The man ducks and grabs Malcolm's neck. You don't think, you sprint forward, feeling strength growing with every step. You grab the man's wrist and twist. A loud SNAP! fills the room and the man lets go of M&M. You kick him in the stomach and he flies back a few yards. The strength quickly drains from you, and you feel normal again. The creature flies past you and meets back up with its master. The man snaps his wrist back in place and watches you. "What's going on?" You ask.
Cobrian stands next to you. "He's re-assessing the situation, you gave him quite a shock." He answers.
"I don't understand how I did it." You admit.
"By my guess, when I altered your eyes, it kicked some Lupricobra DNA into production, I guess it adapted to your body and altered it in slight ways, a lot like when a Lupricobra matures and awakens its abilities."
"So I'm part Lupricobra now?!"
"Essentially, but we will deal with that later, this fight is not over yet."
