SOME ADVICE

Im working on a game based just after WW3, and need some ideas on what features I should put in it, im going to upload a demo to my site in a week or two, but I was wondering what type of side missions I should add?
We need to know more details about your game before suggesting anything.
okay, The setting is just after WW3, There are no more governments, just massive gangs, bent on taking over the earth... The main chars are as follows:

You -- A lowly guy in a gang representing the only bit of Democracy left
Smith -- A radio Operator who you have to rescue to get
Cant remember name -- A spec ops guy who joins you...
Someone else will be added later.

You start out on a map that has a river running down the middle, your base is on the left, thiers is on the right. Roving planes, artillery, and men are on both sides, as well as a few divers in the water. So far the first part you must eliminate a main guy in a heavily guarded castle, which a side mission gets you some aid in that respect. The second area is a huge river, in which you have to get the building supplies to the damaged part of the bridge in order to fight the second boss. In addition to constant fighting you can explore caves and mine some rocks. The Radio Operator is required to use the Sat Phone, which depending on the number you enter can take you to special shops or make you loose money. I havent thought of anything after the second area, although I did put snipers, that cannot be killed to injure the party if they step on the wrong tile... Basically, what I am asking is there anything you think I could add to make it better, and possible minigames that I might could add, I was thinking an jet battle for a minigame. So any suggestions would be much appreciated, and if you need more details ask me...

Need way more than that before we could actually start suggesting things about your game. For instance ... what editor is it made in? Is it an action game? Or is it a strategy game? Don't be so vague and expect any good commentary.
My bad, I forgot to mention that it is made in RPG Maker 2003, and probably could be classified as an action-rpg. Im wanting it with a kindof openarea/storyline guided setup.

  • Maybe being able to "apply" for different jobs which will determine if you are "good" or "bad"
  • Free-roaming

Idk, that's all I can think of. The best thing you could do is have a small demo so people can understand what the game is really like. Right now its kind of a stab in the dark to really suggest you anything.
Alright thanks for the advice, I will try to get a demo up in a week or two. I have a problem getting to an internet connection, where I can upload files at, so it may take awhile, but I will keep you informed.
