Did you see the new gameplay trailer for Zelda Wii U. It's pretty awesome.
I love hearing peoples thoughts on new Zeldas and old zeldas and just Zelda in general.
So post here what you think of the gameplay or what you want to see in the game.
I'm wondering if that new horse vault mechanic can be utilized for puzzles and not just combat.
As for what I want to see, I want there to be diverse towns with unique cultures like Majoras Mask.
I could list more stuff I'd like to see but I'd rant way to long so lets go with that for now.

Here's the newest "trailer", for anyone who hasn't seen it yet btw.
The landscape looks truly gorgeous! I'm loving the new mechanics, such as the more fluid horseback movement, exploration with the game-pad, wild horses, etc! ;D
But I do worry it may suffer the same "empty world" syndrome Twilight Princess had... where eventually the exploration gets a little boring due to the sheer size of it. Hopefully they keep Hyrule dense with things to do and hidden items, caves etc. The Majora's Mask over-world was a good example of this, I think.

It certainly looks very pretty. I'm also worried that it's going to wind up being a vast, empty space. Zelda games have a pretty bad track record when it comes to such things, and this incarnation of Hyrule currently looks distressingly vacant. Though since the game is still in development, I'll give them a pass for now and hope that they manage to populate Hyrule with monsters, caves, towns, turnips, etc.
I'm not loving the motion controls for aiming and all of that, though. In fact, I'd rather just play with the pro controller and forget the Gamepad even exists.
And here is that very same trailer, but cropped and reoriented so that it's full screen. Like it should have been in the first place.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the video doesn't show up, so here's a boring old link:

"Starfox will arrive next year before Zelda".
So now we're getting not one, but two long-awaited games in 2015? My wallet screams in agony.
I'm hoping the empty spaces are filled with non-essential dungeons or towers where you can get heart containers or pieces or empty bottles or something. Kind of like how Windwaker was, where you could find an island that had no purpose other than giving you a treasure chart or a heart piece.

Even a big empty field is better than 3 tiny sandpits. Plus it looks like its still in alpha so there's plenty of time for them to fine-tune it. I just hope that if it isn't done by 2015, THEY PUSH IT BACK. Please please don't rush it to release, Nintendo.
I haven't been this hyped for a Zelda since...um...probably Majora's Mask back in 2000. I hope the caves and dungeons are dark.
Simply Amazing. The map interface is cool.
I really enjoyed the vastness of the WindWaker ocean and
the fact that there were hundreds of sites to explore.

If they bring back Ganondorf I hope he's more like the one from Wind Waker who was actually sympathetic and not the Twilight Princess Ganondorf who was evil for the sake of evil.
Wind Waker Ganondorf had reasons to take over Hyrule he and his people lived in a harsh desert where the wind brought death. He wanted a better life for the Gerudo and so he took Hyrule, a more verdant and bountiful land.
Edit: Just know that I'm not judging the games here they're both good I'm just saying Windwaker had the better Ganondorf and I hope this new game continues to develop Ganondorf as more of a human being and not just evil incarnate.

Wind Waker's Ganondorf was awesome. That speech he made before the final battle, about the winds bringing death to the Gerudo and prosperity to Hyrule was probably one of the best moments in any Zelda game. Then again, that whole final battle was one of the best moments in any Zelda game. In my less-than-humble opinion. So if Ganondorf is the villain, I'd love to see him return to that sort of form. We don't really need another Zant or Ghirahim. We need the man himself.

I agree completely.
Speaking of final battles, my favorite Final Battle in Zelda games is the fight against Demise. Holy crap is that battle fun some times I'll turn on Skyward sword just to fight him again.
I think I might miss the motion controls in this next game. I know some people hate that stuff and say it didn't work well but for me the motion controls worked well and added a new level of immersion.
Though it's not my favorite, the fight against Demise was a great way to end Skyward Sword. Because after all the shit they put you through to get to Demise, that game really needed a great conclusion. I think that the motion controls generally worked in Skyward Sword's favor, but the game itself was filled with so much bullshit that I could barely stand to finish it. The fights against the Imprisoned, the backtracking, the awful, AWFUL final dungeon... and Fi... UGH.
I didn't mind the Imprisoned that much until I fought him in boss rush mode that when he gets annoying.
I agree on the backtracking part that time they force you to revisit the first dungeon felt really lame to me. Backtracking should be meant mostly for side quests.
Wasn't the final dungeon the place where you could move the rooms around? I thought that was a cool idea although I suppose it could have been better had said rooms had more of an impact on the neighboring rooms.
Yeah Fi should have been way more likeable she's the Master sword after all. They should have shown more character growth for her. They only show a bit at the very end.

As I played Skyward Sword with blank expectations, I was motivated to save
Zelda character at all costs. My favorite dungeons in the entire game were:
Ancient Cistern and the Sandship. I wish more Zelda games had the
great adventure appeal of Skyward Sword. Windwaker HD was pretty awesome too.
Twilight Princess not so much.

I really enjoyed Skyward Sword! I was one of those who didn't have much trouble at all with the motion controls, and I think they added a lot to the game. That being said, I won't miss them at all in future games...Windwaker HD reminded me of that. Anywho, the dungeons were all pretty great, especially Cistern and Sandship, but a lot of the adventure outside the dungeons just felt like padding a lot of the time.
Sky Keep was awesome! D:< I agree that Demise is a great final boss fight. But yeah, that Song of the Hero quest is just...ugggggghhhhh.
@Redmask: I actually...didn't mind re-trekking into the first dungeon for some reason, haha. But everyone who's mentioned it since then hated it. I guess I'm weird. And I liked Skyview enough to put up with it again! :D I totally agree about Fi's characterization, though.
@Davenport: The boss is the only thing I don't like about the Sandship. Compared to the boss of the previous dungeon, Tentalus is just, um, silly. And easy. I liked Link and Zelda's relationship, too. As in, they actually had one at all. I also like how Zelda has her own journey, of sorts, and doesn't just wait around for Link...well, at least not until near the end. :(

I'm a dumb blonde (guys can be airheads, too), so I couldn't solve that Sky Keep puzzle to save my life. I had to have the strategy guide on my lap the whole entire time, and even then I struggled.
And my biggest problem with Fi wasn't her lack of characterization. It was the hand-holding. I don't remember if it was Sky Keep or the dungeon before that, but I distinctly remember coming upon a LOCKED DOOR and she had the nerve to tell me, 45 hours into the game, that I need a KEY to open it. And then, when I found the key 5 minutes later, that dumb-dumb suggested there was a 67.5% chance the KEY would open the LOCKED DOOR I had just passed. If you don't know that a key will open a door in a Zelda game... 45 hours into the game... you've got bigger problems than that locked door. If possible, I would have thrown Fi off of Skyloft and used a wooden sword for the entire game, just so I wouldn't have to listen to her.
Yeah, the Song of the Hero quest is what made me really cringe. I didn't like it, but the backtracking prior to that was at least tolerable. I expect a certain amount of it in Zelda games. But the Song of the Hero quest was too much. Tadpole collecting was awful. Link getting mugged by moblins and having all his stuff stolen... EVEN WORSE. I don't even remember the desert part, but I'm sure I hated it, too. XD
EDIT: So I don't come across as a total hater, I'll note that there are some things that I liked about the game. It was gorgeous, the relationship between Link and Zelda was great, the dungeons were expertly crafted, Groose was great, the motion controls were fine. Oh, and the music was excellent. That's something I look forward to in every Zelda game. Hopefully the Wii U version delivers on that front.

Well spoken sir or madam. Took the words right out of my mouth.
Anyway, I hope dowsing is not in the next game, kinda (I'm conflicted about it.) I get that it helps some players but I feel like it take away from exploration. Don't get me wrong I know that its optional. In fact I never used it except for the last tadpole in that tadpole collecting challenge but, when I did use it, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt like I cheated when I used it.
I know some people need more directions than others, and I guess its good game design. (I've learn that the hard way from people getting lost in my game.)
But, let me put it this way if dowsing is not in the next game I won't miss it. The hardcore Zelda fan in me just hates the idea of dowsing I'm sorry I just hate it, even though I'm sure others love it.
