Like I said there are pretenders to the throne, but none so far have that succinct acerbic wit that I associate with a supervillain title, but I can see how Max could eventually rise to the title, though there are a few others in the running.

Well, according to Snidely Whiplash being evil is far more fun.
You also get to wander around in ridiculously tight and complicated outfits and say portentous things and no one gets to snigger at you...and if they do you've got minions, henchmen and lackeys to 'take care' of the sniggerer.
Personally I think that's one of the better perks.
