FIVE RANDOM THOUGHTS ABOUT VIDEO GAMES.

Posts

These are just my personal opinions though~

-I used to be a fan of Blizzard a long time ago, was a huge fan of Warcraft I and II.
But after a long time they released Warcraft III which was really different and it was not what I was expecting. Then came World of Warcraft which I think completely killed Blizzard and it has been made as an RPG other than a RTS. What happened to the original gameplay?

-Squaresoft used to be the golden age of Japanese gaming, with all the great games they made on the SNES and from Final Fantasy 1 to 10, they were all classic. Until the actual Final Fantasy team quit to form Square Enix, which after that made crappier games and kinda ruined the whole Final Fantasy series.

What the heck are you talking about? I don't recall everyone quitting to form Square-Enix.

As a side note, FF11 was developed before the merger. Only the FF11 expansion packs and FF12 came after the merger.
I don't mind square enix at all. I hated FF XI but XII was fucking awesome.
As I said it's my personal opinion, but I do like one thing about Square Enix though, for re-making a few of the classic FF games on the handhelds.

Personal opinion or not, what are you talking about when you say this? This never factually happened.
Ah...It didn't?

Well at least one dude quit squenix, right? The dude who went on to make Lost Odyssey?
Mistwalker guy? Sakaguchi or something like that? I think he left well before the Squenix thing.

No, you know who I'm mad they let go? Yazmat.
I wonder if the one that has written the story of the previous games, is still working for Square.

Forgot his name though.
-I really loved Tales of Symphonia. Yes it's cute, it's cheesy, and it's cell-shaded, but those are three C's that I enjoy. That game was one of the best, if not THE best game on the Gamecube in the United States. I just hope that Tales of Symphonia 2 doesn't destroy what I have come to love. While anticipating it, I have been so disappointed with new games lately that I can't help but be scared out of my wits over how bad it can suck. Square ruined FFVII by adding so much, Namco could possibly ruin ToS by adding a game. Regardless of if Dawn of the new World sucks or not, I'll still love the heck out of Symphonia. I still love FFVII, but only FFVII out of that whole compliation...

-I waited what seemed like forever for Sid Mier's Civilization series to make an appearance on a console since Civ 2 on PSX. What I got was Civilization Revolution DS, which is fun in it's own right, but it lacks the depth and length that the PC games had. I kept wondering why so much of the minute details were taken out. My husband and I bought two copies to play together and we felt like it was just... Civ JR.

-It may be old, but Grandia rocks my rainbow colored toe socks!
I miss Working Designs because I could always trust that I would love the games they put out, and there's no longer a company like that.

Therefore I stick to only buying DS remakes, and perhaps I'll take the risk of buying Mega Man 9, but that's about it.

I used to be in fangirl love with Working Designs. I loved everything they made! My favorite to this day is still Lunar 2 Eternal Blue. Ronfar and Mauri are one of my favorite couples in videogame history. I wanna make happy sparkles fly out of the person I kiss. That's awesome. <3

-I remember a long time ago when beating Sephiroth was satisfying. Now it really does feel like I'm beating up a mama's boy! Ahahaha.

FF 1 and 2 were awesome remakes and the graphics weren't that bad.
1. Square? Awesome.
Enix? Awesome.

Combine them and you get complete shit.

In Videogames, two awesomes don't necessarily make a SUPER awesome.

2. They just don't make em' like they used to.

3. I wish I still owned Vanguard Bandits for the PSX.

4. 1990-2000 was the BEST decade for RPG's. The absolute best of the best
came from there.

5. There needs to be an Earthbound released for the DS or something.

Thank god for fans!

Emulator, eh? Well, you take what you can get. Thanks, Shadowtext!
-Shion has almost single handedly ruined Xenosaga III for me. The entire game she does nothing but feel sorry for herself, ignored her friends, and sucks Kevins dick and bitches and moans about him all the time even though Kevin doesn't give two shits about her.
-I don't give two shits about what anyone else thinks, I actually LIKED the gamecube controller. People always wanted to tell me how clunky it was, but I still liked it.

-I want to play that one RPG completely made by Yoshitaka Amano published by Atlus... started with a K. Still, I want to play it!

-It didn't come to me until a few years ago, but Dragon Quest eats the shit out of Final Fantasy. And DQ's spinoffs? Much cuter, much more inventive, and they just melt my heart. The moment I see Dragon Warrior Mystic Quest or something like that, I will shoot myself. xD

-I can't wait until my baby(ies) will be old enough to play games with me. Getting my baby to play the same things that I play will mean the world to me. I got started in video games by my dad - who saw that I can't play platformers and my cousins made fun of me, so he put in Legend of Zelda... and I tore 'em up! That's when he said "that's my girl!" because he couldn't play platformers either. Ahhh, my memories. <3 I love my dad.

-While the best quality games came out between 90-00, there are a few really quality games that make me just as happy as a lot of the old games. Tales of the Abyss is one of those few.
Starscream
Conquest is made from the ashes of one's enemies.

Kartia! It was one of my favorite PlayStation games; I still own it. I don't think Amano did anything but the artwork, but it was featured heavily in the game. Very cool story and systems, though it fails to implement most of them properly.

I once saw it for sale at a used game store but I didn't have the money to get it... I would get it just because I love Amano's art. Sure, it's scribbly. But it's unique!
